Sunnyvale, CA, December 17, 2018 – Silicon Valley is getting a new destination for business and leisure travelers as AC Hotel by Marriott Sunnyvale Cupertino first opens its doors to the public on December 17, 2018. AC Hotels is a lifestyle brand within the Marriott International global portfolio, catering to the creativity and passions of travelers with an entrepreneurial spirit. AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino is the first property in the Bay Area to be introduced by owner T2 Hospitality and managed by Evolution Hospitality.
“We are very excited to officially open our doors and unveil this gorgeous property as the first of several new AC Hotels we are building and servicing in the Bay Area,” said Mike Lerman, General Manager, AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino, Evolution Hospitality. “We’ve really enjoyed getting to know the Sunnyvale community, and are thrilled to partner with some amazing local organizations and businesses both at opening and continuing forward.”

Next-Gen Style & Signature Design
AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino pays homage to the old orchard fields in Sunnyvale with custom orchard branch art at reception, and brings the orchard feeling through the use of natural materials and a variety of textures. Clean lines and subtle tones throughout the property’s guest rooms and public spaces reflect a modern style which nods to Silicon Valley’s agrarian roots as well as its current role as a global innovation center.
With 2,454 square feet of clean, purposeful common space, the property also includes an Innovation Lab, an 815-square foot distinct, inspiring meeting space featuring a boardroom table that converts to ping pong table after your meeting, plus a tech-enabled 85” TV that encourages creative gatherings and an adjacent outdoor patio. Meeting options also include AC’s signature Media Salon, a smaller, fully equipped media room for video conferencing and strategy sessions.
A subtle technological theme is present as a supplement to the engaging service at the hotel. This is brought to life with robotic movement of housekeeping items, as well as robotic amenity and food delivery to guest rooms. Additionally, the hotel’s signature cocktail, Sunnyvale, Then & Now, will feature a “spherification” technique that is showcased every evening in the bar area at 5pm. Technology is evident even in the guest communication tools, such as Kallpod service request devices in the lounge area.
AC Lounge & AC Kitchen
During the day, hotel guests and locals can meet and mingle in the inviting indoor and outdoor AC Lounge space designed with the entrepreneurial spirit in mind. As day transitions into night, guests can enjoy local wine and craft beers, specialty wines sourced from around the world, or expertly made signature cocktails from Beverage & Food Manager John Tran, like the Sunnyvale, Then & Now (Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey, Cherry Heering, Lustau Palo Cortado Sherry, Lustau Vermut Rojo). The stylish bar within the AC Lounge provides an opportunity for guests to relax, unwind and bond with a refined selection of tapas-style small bites, such as the Catalonian Toast (toasted bread with garlic, vine-ripened tomato, extra virgin olive oil, and sea salt). The AC Kitchen offers an elevated, European-inspired continental breakfast, including the Berkel slicer, an AC Hotels staple, which will offer guests hand-cut meats including artisanal La Quercia Prosciutto.
“Both our guests and Sunnyvale locals will enjoy the bar program at the AC Lounge. It’s not only a great place to grab a drink before dinner, but also a gathering place for the community,” said John Tran, Beverage & Food Manager, AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino. “We’ve taken great care to highlight some fantastic local producers, such as Camino Brewing, on our bar menu, while also staying true to the AC Hotel brand’s Spanish roots with items like the Aqua de Valencia.”
