Sunnyvale, CA (May 7, 2018) – Silicon Valley is getting a new destination for business and leisure travelers as AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino opens its doors this summer. Located in the heart of Sunnyvale at the intersection of South Fair Oaks Ave. and El Camino Real, the hotel is conveniently situated near restaurants, arts and cultural attractions, top tech and global companies, sporting venues, and is just eight miles from the San Jose International Airport. AC Hotels is a lifestyle brand within the Marriott International global portfolio, catering to the creativity and passions of travelers with a millennial mindset. AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino is the first property in a cluster of planned hotels in the Bay Area to be introduced by owner T2 Hospitality and managed by Evolution Hospitality. Future hotel locations include Santa Clara, Palo Alto, and a second Sunnyvale property.

“We’re thrilled to bring our first AC Hotel under the T2 development portfolio to the Bay Area with the opening of the AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino,” said Bo Patel, Chief Portfolio Officer at T2 Hospitality. “With this collection of new AC Hotels, particularly with this first property, our vision is to create a completely reimagined business and leisure travel destination for the Bay Area.”

“We think Sunnyvale is going to love this hotel as both a new kind of business travel destination and a new local hot spot,” said Mike Lerman, General Manager at AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino, Evolution Hospitality. “We’re looking forward to bringing the practical elegance of the AC Hotel brand to this area, and have the perfect partners in T2 and Marriott to do so.”

Next-Gen Style & Signature Design
Designated as a LEED Silver Certified property, the AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino is being built with an earth-friendly focus. AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino is designed for creative, well-traveled, entrepreneurial spirits who are constantly on-the-go and who appreciate the oasis of a well-designed hotel that allows them to focus, be present, and connect with others. The five-floor hotel features a total of 182 rooms, including 107 kings, 22 enhanced kings, 47 double queens and 6 suites. With 2,454 square feet of clean, purposeful common space, the property will also include an Innovation Lab, a 815-square foot distinct, inspiring meeting space featuring Microsoft Hub technology, that encourages creative gatherings with an adjacent outdoor patio. Meeting options also include AC’s signature Media Salon, a smaller, fully equipped media room for video conferencing and strategy sessions.

The AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino celebrates the beauty of classic modern designs borne of the brand’s Spanish roots and European soul, while also reflecting the uniqueness and character of its location in the heart of Silicon Valley. The property pays homage to the old orchard fields in Sunnyvale with custom orchard branch art at reception, and brings the orchard feeling through the use of natural materials and a variety of textures. Clean lines and subtle tones throughout the property’s guest rooms and public spaces reflect a modern style which nods to Silicon Valley’s agrarian roots as well as its current role as a global innovation center. The focused-service hotel evokes an overall experience that envelops both form and function.

Additionally, AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino will feature a unique, outdoor piece of public art by artist David Franklin. Water is the theme of the piece, focusing on its important role as an increasingly precious commodity, its power to drive economies and populations, and literal ability to move mountains.

The bespoke guest rooms are the result of synergized efforts between Marriott International and T2 Development. The King rooms feature a deconstructed bath and freestanding vanity, creating an island element. Other highlights in the rooms include a floating desk, luggage bench and upholstered headboard wall.

AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino will also feature the brand’s signature spaces including:

AC Lounge & AC Kitchen
A communal space of creativity and collaboration by day and a hub of social buzz by night, the AC Lounge inspires both locals and visitors to work communally in a relaxed style. During the day, hotel guests and locals can meet and mingle in the inviting indoor and outdoor space designed with the entrepreneurial spirit in mind. As day transitions into night, guests can enjoy local wine and craft beers, expertly made signature cocktails, or specialty wines sourced from around the world. The stylish bar within the AC Lounge provides an opportunity for guests to relax, unwind and bond with a refined selection of tapas-style small bites. The AC Kitchen offers an elevated, European-inspired continental breakfast, including the Berkel slicer, an AC Hotels staple, which will offer guests hand-cut meats including artisanal La Quercia Prosciutto.

AC Library
The library provides guests with a quiet, curated environment for perusing literature or conducting business, as well as access to business-center amenities.

AC Store
The AC Store will be open 24 hours and will offer European and local snacks and sweets, a selection of beverages, and wine by the bottle, alongside highly curated gifts and mementos.
