182 apartments for low- to middle-income residents
SAN FRANCISCO, April 29, 2016—BRIDGE Housing and The John Stewart Company (JSCo) have been selected through the City’s competitive Request for Proposals process to develop mixed-income housing at 88 Broadway. The selection panel was composed of representatives from the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development, the Port of San Francisco and various community groups.
As co-developers, BRIDGE and JSCo teamed up with Leddy Maytum Stacy Architects to propose a high-quality, mixed-use development that includes:
- 130 apartments for families earning 50%-120% of Area Median Income, including four live-work units
- 52 apartments for seniors earning 40%-70% of Area Median Income
A Local Operating Support Program (LOSP) subsidy will enable 20% (37 apartments) of the development to be set aside for formerly homeless households, with supportive services to be provided by Lutheran Social Services.
The proposed development also includes approximately 11,400 square feet of retail/commercial space targeted to neighborhood-serving uses, including a 55-slot mixed-income childcare center to be operated by the YMCA of San Francisco.
