Bright Horizons® Child Care to Open at San Francisco’s Waterfront Plaza

Programming Will Offer High-Quality Early Education and Preschool;

New Addition Adds Another Amenity to Revitalized Campus

SAN FRANCISCO (June 10, 2017) – Waterfront Plaza, located on San Francisco’s Northern Waterfront, is pleased to announce the opening of Bright Horizons at The Embarcadero, a leading provider of high-quality early education and preschool programming. Bright Horizons at The Embarcadero will be located at 1700 Montgomery Street, within the Waterfront Plaza campus, and will provide a key new amenity for nearby office workers. Bright Horizons at The Embarcadero is slated to open in 2018.

With centers located throughout the U.S. and internationally, Bright Horizons aims to empower children from infancy on to become confident, successful learners and secure, caring people. The Embarcadero location will serve up to 138 children, ages six weeks to six years old, with infant through kindergarten prep programs.

“With its scenic bayside location, and thriving professional community with many working parents, Waterfront Plaza is the perfect choice for our newest child care center,” said Cynthia Hartzel, divisional vice president of operations of Bright Horizons. “We hope to make an impact in the local community through our enriching child care and educational programming.”

The addition of Bright Horizons adds another amenity to the revitalized Waterfront Plaza campus. Acquired by Jamestown in 2014, Waterfront Plaza is a four-building, 297,000-square-foot office complex along the Embarcadero with tenants including professional service firms, media and marketing agencies, and technology companies. Bounded by Bay Street, Francisco Street, Kearney Street and Chestnut Street, the campus features secured bike parking, immediate proximity to a five-story parking structure, the popular Hillstone restaurant, and beautiful landscaping upgrades implemented by Jamestown, including the recent addition of drought tolerant plants and seating areas for tenants to enjoy lunch or experience the spacious campus. This summer, Waterfront Plaza will also welcome Norcina, a new quick-service Italian café and delicatessen located at 50 Francisco Street. Founded by Kaitlynn Bauman of Parlor 1255, a quick-service restaurant in Levi’s Plaza, Norcina will offer an exciting new dining option for breakfast, lunch and dinner to area workers.

Waterfront Plaza is served by several public transit services including MUNI’s Market Street F trolley line, as well as ferry service to Marin, the East Bay and the Peninsula just four blocks away at Pier 41. It provides convenient access to Marin County and the greater North Bay via the Embarcadero, and offers a shuttle to and from the downtown corridor during the morning and evening hours. It is within short walking distance of some of San Francisco’s most iconic destinations including Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf, and Ghirardelli Square.
