Latest deal follows recently completed modernization of iconic tower in financial district

SAN FRANCISCO (March 22, 2018) – CBRE Global Investors announced today that leading scientific consulting firm Cardno ChemRisk has signed a long-term, full-floor lease at 235 Pine Street in downtown San Francisco’s financial district. The deal totals 8,257 square feet of turnkey office space, and comes on the heels of a recently completed capital improvement project that delivered premier amenities, future-ready floor plates and activated shared spaces to the 25-story Class A office tower.

Cardno ChemRisk is expected to move into its new office on the 23rd floor in June. The firm specializes in using risk assessment methods to characterize and provide improved understanding of complex exposures involving chemicals and pharmaceuticals in a variety of potentially contaminated media. Cardno ChemRisk is part of the global organization Cardno, which has more than 6,000 employees located in 130 offices worldwide.

235 Pine Street is a part of CBRE Global Investors’ exclusive “5-Star Worldwide” program, a national network of top-tier office buildings designed to attract and retain top talent through a comprehensive range of professional services, hospitality and events. Meade Boutwell, Senior Vice President with CBRE, represented the owner.

“We are pleased to welcome Cardno ChemRisk to 235 Pine Street,” said Boutwell. “The exceptional tenant services, events and on-site management provided by 5-Star Worldwide are a major factor in drawing top talent to the building. Since the completion of the capital improvements, 235 Pine Street has emerged as an energized, culture-driven workplace community that is well-positioned to attract and serve today’s modern workforce.”

235 Pine Street is also home to notable tenants such as Empire Distribution, ApplePie Capital, Drive Motors, Rsquared and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Recent improvements to the 164,405-square-foot tower include the addition of a state-of-the-art 5-Star Conference Center that is equipped with professional meeting spaces, event venues and collaborative breakout areas designed to spark creativity and advance professional development. New showers, locker rooms and a bike rack that promotes mobility and accessibility have also been installed, while electric vehicle charging stations are expected to become available soon.

The building is within walking distance of numerous BART stations, and features premier access to Interstate 80 and the Bay Bridge, reducing commutes to the East and South Bays by more than 20 minutes. Nearby entertainment and dining options include Union Square, the Embarcadero Centers, Crocker Galleria and The Ferry Building.
