IRVINE, Calif. – David R. Rowley, a veteran corporate real estate executive with more than 20 years’ experience managing commercial real estate assets throughout California, has been named to the newly created post of regional managing director for business development with Colliers International. He will be based in the firm’s Irvine regional headquarters.
In his new role, Rowley will be responsible for building and maintaining client relationships throughout the brokerage firm’s Western Region and for driving new business across Colliers Real Estate Management Services (REMS) and brokerage service lines.
“David is an accomplished professional with a unique set of traits perfectly suited to the management and brokerage services sector of our business,” said Colliers Western Region President Martin Pupil. “In his new and expanded role, he will be identifying opportunities for value creation and positioning our executives and our brokers on how to best to respond to our clients’ needs. His goal will be to add value to those relationships wherever and whenever he identifies a need that we can fill.”
Prior to joining Colliers, Rowley was a senior vice president with Davis Partners LLC in Newport Beach, where he was responsible for the successful operation, management, and leasing of 13 million square feet of commercial space in some 75 separate assets throughout the West Coast. During his tenure with the company from 2001-2015, he also was responsible for the company’s third-party management and leasing assignments, working with such institutional clients as TA Associates Realty, Industrial Income Trust (IIT) and Invesco.
“As the depth and breadth of our full-service real estate services firm expands throughout the country, it has become especially important for us to put in place executives who can develop new business relationships across a variety of service lines including property management and brokerage,” said Colliers Real Estate Management Services (REMS) President Karen Whitt.
During his more than two decades of professional experience, Rowley has worked in nearly all aspects of commercial real estate, including management, leasing, acquisitions and development.
Earlier in his career, Rowley served as a property manager with Spieker Properties/Equity Office in Irvine where he was responsible for the net operating income of a Class A office portfolio that totaled more than 500,000 square feet. He served in a similar role with CB Commercial/Koll Management Services, where he oversaw the operations of a 1.5 million-square-foot office campus near Orange County Airport.
Long active in a variety of professional, civic and charitable organizations, Rowley, a resident of Costa Mesa, California, currently serves as president of the South Coast Metro Alliance and is a member of the Orange County Sheriffs Dept.’s Professional Service Responders, an organization that provides leadership support for several of the department’s key service areas. His academic background includes an undergraduate degree from California State University, Long Beach.
