DCT Industrial has secured a single tenant for its 297,000 square foot Class A warehouse facility at 22290 Hathaway Avenue in Hayward, CA. 22290 Hathaway was formerly a 394,000 square foot building that is being redeveloped into this smaller size facility. The building is situated on ±11.7 acres. Jeff Starkovich, SIOR and Sam Higgins, SIOR with Cushman & Wakefield’s Oakland office represented the landlord in the transaction.
DCT, which has owned the property for just over a year, began redeveloping and making significant improvements to the property a few months ago. In addition to the resizing, which was done so that loading docks and trailer parking could be added, upgrades will also include a new roof, new ESFR sprinklers and 28 feet of clear height. The building also features skylights, fully secured loading and parking area, and an office area to suit. The work is expected to be completed sometime during the third quarter of this year.
22290 Hathaway features a prime location approximately one block East of Interstate 880, close proximity to the Port of Oakland, and within a few miles from California Highway 238 and 92.
“DCT’s creative, modern plans for the project and its prime location and accessibility throughout the Bay Area, combined with the ongoing strong market demand for this type of high-end industrial product so scarce today, made this facility highly attractive to an array of users,” said Mr. Starkovich, Managing Principal in Cushman & Wakefield’s Oakland office. “We are fortunate to have landed such a large user.”
