FOSTER CITY and IRVINE, Calif. (May 11, 2015) – SteelWave, formerly Legacy Partners Commercial LLC, the commercial division of San Francisco Bay Area-‐based Legacy Partners, announced that Dennis Cavallari has joined SteelWave as Senior Managing Director, A&D, Residential/Multifamily, to lead their expansion into the multifamily space.
With 33 years of real estate experience, including 12 years with Legacy Partners Residential, Cavallari has spearheaded the acquisition and development of approximately 6,000 apartment units with a combined cost of $1.5 billion. In his new role he will be responsible for SteelWave’s residential/multifamily development and acquisitions. Cavallari will be based in SteelWave’s Irvine, Calif. office.

The combined track records of Cavallari and the SteelWave team since its inception includes the development and acquisition or management of more than 125 million square feet of commercial, residential and mixed-‐use property in the Western United States -‐-‐ of which more than 90 percent has been in five key target markets: Northern California, Southern California, Denver, Seattle, and Texas.
Most recently, his Cavallari Group developed and procured entitlement approvals for residential land and multifamily properties in the western U.S. He was also the Southern California operating partner for Legacy Partners Residential for 12 years and built a formidable brand in Los Angeles and Orange County, developing some of the region’s most notable luxury apartment communities. Cavallari was also a partner at JPI, a national apartment community developer, and helped build their Denver presence in the 1980s and early 1990s.
Cavallari earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Empire State College and a Master of Science degree from the State University of New York.
