Greg Johnson Joins Multistudio as Managing Director to Lead San Francisco Operations

Multistudio, an employee-owned, nationally recognized architecture and design firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Greg Johnson as Managing Principal of its San Francisco studio. Greg brings over 30 years of directorial experience from notable architecture firms, including Perkins+Will and SOM, as well as his own practice, where he partnered with private clients and ownership groups to align vision, design, and performance from concept through completion. His ability to fuse business strategy with design excellence has earned him a reputation as a trusted advisor and collaborative leader across the industry.

Greg’s expertise in design, business, and real estate, fueled by experience working as both an architect and a director, allows him to thrive in cross-disciplinary, collaborative leadership. Throughout his career, he has sought opportunities where strategic vision and creative leadership intersect, bringing to Multistudio a track record of leading high-profile, complex development, from billion-dollar research campuses to culturally significant civic and residential projects, all while championing innovation, stakeholder alignment, and long-term value. His passion and commitment to sustainability offer a unique approach to his role, integrating a strategic business mindset while prioritizing environmental responsibility and organizational adaptability, equipped to meet present and future business needs. At Multistudio, Johnson will guide the San Francisco team focusing on design vision, operational excellence, and continued service to the Bay Area’s evolving needs.

Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
