Grosvenor Americas, part of the Grosvenor Group, one of the world’s largest privately-owned property companies, is pleased to announce the official building opening, along with the public commencement of sales, for its boutique luxury condominium development, Crescent.  Prominently established atop historic Nob Hill, Crescent is home to forty-four exquisite custom residences, representing the first significant new residential development in the neighborhood in decades and the only one of its distinct caliber and scale to be built for years to come.  Crescent features world-class architecture by AD100 Hall of Fame-inductee, Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA), contemporary interiors by acclaimed Champalimaud Design, an extensive suite of amenities, first-rate personalized service, and refined spaces designed to foster a sense of community among residents.

“We are incredibly excited and proud to have arrived at this milestone of opening Crescent,” said Steve Buster, Senior Vice President of Development for Grosvenor Americas.  “After an exceptionally difficult year for everyone, including the impacts the pandemic had on our great City and the real estate industry, we are so happy to see San Francisco reopening.   And concurrent with the reopening, we are thrilled to be able to welcome new homeowners to a move-in ready building.  As a result of the easing of restrictions, we’re at last able to fully launch sales for Crescent to the public.  We have already received tremendous positive feedback for the exceptional residences and amenity spaces in this high-quality, boutique building, which offers a unique oasis of indoor-outdoor living in a beloved neighborhood.  We’re thrilled to now bring prospective buyers through to experience it for themselves.  We are privileged to be a part of the Nob Hill community, which has warmly embraced Crescent as a contemporary icon in its midst, with the highest level of design and architecture.  Crescent presents a rare opportunity to live in what will be one of San Francisco’s most desirable addresses.”

Architecture and Interior Design

Representing RAMSA’s first multi-family residential project in San Francisco, Crescent’s thoughtful design is derived from classic architectural principles fused with inspiration from Nob Hill’s illustrious history and indelible architectural characteristics such as venerable landmarks, striking topography, and bucolic parks. Defining characteristics of the arrival experience include a sweeping crescent-shaped entry garden landscaped with cobbled pathways, private terraces and loggias, and oversized versions of San Francisco’s quintessential bay windows.

RAMSA’s 37 unique and meticulously designed floorplans for Crescent’s forty-four residences are complemented by curated interiors by Champalimaud Design, the award winning multi-disciplinary design firm founded by Interior Design Hall of Fame inductee, Alexandra Champalimaud.  With an appreciation for pre-war design, many homes feature formal entry foyers with a gallery wall or an architecturally curved niche, ideal for displaying art, leading to an open living and dining room, in addition to beautifully proportioned bedrooms that feel like private sanctuaries.  Custom scalloped molding is reprised from the building’s exterior and common areas into the residences.  Seven-inch-wide light oak flooring, which is hand laid, visually direct the eye to the oversized bronze beveled casement windows and terraces, ensuring each home is bathed in alluring natural light.

Daniel Lobitz, Partner at RAMSA, said, “The opportunity to work with Grosvenor, on a choice site at the storied cable-car crossing atop Nob Hill, was irresistible to us. Our intimately scaled boutique building is a departure from San Francisco’s recent high-rise offerings, on the model of the city’s traditional apartment houses and townhouses, along with the convenience and amenities of a top-level full-service building. Crescent’s generous indoor-outdoor living spaces and well-conceived floor plans are designed to support a lifetime of elegant living.”

Ideal for entertaining, kitchens feature top-of-the-line integrated appliances from Sub-Zero and Wolf.  Custom cabinetry, engineered and imported from Germany, is adorned with S.A. Baxter hardware and complemented by honed Mediterraneo marble countertops and backsplashes.  Finishing touches include Dornbracht polished chrome fixtures and Valli&Valli hardware throughout the rest of the home.

Generously sized primary bathrooms are clad almost entirely in Bianco Dolomite marble, including the walls, floors and counters atop custom vanities.  Gray and gold veining is illuminated by Waterworks sconces and further brought to life by chrome accents and Dornbracht fittings that produce a modern sense of style. Kohler tea-for-two soaking tubs are enhanced with book-matched marble and cove accent lighting to create an ambiance of relaxation. Separate showers enclosed in milk-white glass partitions with polished chrome trim complete the five-fixture baths. Guest baths are enhanced by Nordic Imperial Grey marble walls, tub decks and shower floors while powder rooms provide a warmer palette of light oak cabinetry and Bianco Dolomite countertops and floors.

Crowning Crescent Nob Hill is the collection of four meticulously crafted penthouse residences—each a master work by the legendary Robert A.M. Stern Architects. Conceived as an homage to Nob Hill’s illustrious past, these architecturally singular homes offer classical proportions, voluminous entertainment spaces, and a series of private outdoor terraces and roof decks rtfully positioned to frame the cinematic views of the Bay and the iconic skyline. The highlight of each Penthouse is the additional sweeping private rooftop entertaining terrace connected to the main level by a private staircase. The sophisticated interior appointments by Champalimaud create a subtle backdrop to the views. Iconic vistas include the captivating architectural landscape of Nob Hill, the landmark Transamerica Pyramid, Coit Tower, the illuminated downtown skyline, and the mesmerizing Bay.

Amenities & Outdoor Space

Reflecting an homage to classic luxury, Crescent’s amenity offerings designed by Champalimaud Design pursue the allure of living in one of the City’s most sought-after buildings.  Steps from the striking 24-hour attended lobby, residents can seek respite in the elegant Drawing Room, a two-story-high lounge with a fireplace, adjoining Service Kitchen and double-height window wall with a terrace overlooking The Secret Garden – an urban rarity inspired by the whimsical gardens of Paris, brimming with plants, shrubs, perennials, and vines to form an architecturally layered oasis.  Conceived by RAMSA and beautifully executed by The Miller Company, the Secret Garden, adorned with trellis-sheltered seating and an open fire pit, provides a tranquil place to read, converse with friends, or enjoy a warm California evening. Alternatively, residents can ascend to the Sky Line roof terrace, complete with an outdoor kitchen, gas grill, double-sided fireplace, and lounge and dining areas with sweeping views, designed for al fresco entertaining. Keeping active becomes a pleasurable experience when using the fully equipped gym outfitted with Peloton bikes and an adjacent yoga studio. Other conveniences include state-of-the-art automated parking, an underground garage, and ample sized storage units.

Located at the only intersection of the City’s famed cable car lines, Crescent is primely situated near Huntington Park, Grace Cathedral, The Big Four hotel, the Fairmont Hotel, the Pacific-Union Club, Bohemian Club, and Olympic Club, and minutes from the Financial District, providing unfettered access to some of the most significant public and private institutions.

The Founders Collection & Sales Gallery

The public start of sales at Crescent comes with an opportunity for residents to become membersof the coveted Founders Collection. Comprising seven select residences, the collection represents a chance for residents to acquire a seminal work of timeless architecture with unique members-only benefits. Members enjoy a variety of complimentary services and perks including interior and landscaping design consultation with top local designers, art curation, personal styling, a pied-à-terre home visit preparation, and more benefits artfully curated by the Crescent Concierge.

Crescent’s launch of sales to the public also marks the official opening of its on-site Sales Gallery, designed by San Francisco-based Jeff Schlarb Design Studio. Located on the building’s lobby level, the Sales Gallery provides prospective homebuyers with a firsthand look and feel of the residences’ distinguished architecture, interiors, and refined custom-designed layouts while bringing forth a dramatic design that allows guests to envision a customized interior design approach.

Available residences at Crescent are priced from low $1 million for one-bedrooms; high $1 million for two-bedrooms; and $4 million for three-bedrooms. Crescent’s four top-floor penthouse homes, each with its own private rooftop terrace, are priced from $5 million.
