Luxury Residential Development Awarded Sustainable Designation; Tallest Building in California to Attain Honor
SAN FRANCISCO (March 7, 2017) – 340 Fremont Street, a new 40-story residential tower located in the Rincon Hill district of San Francisco designed by Handel Architects, today announced it has been designated as the tallest building in California to receive a GreenPoint Rating from Build It Green. Build It Green – a nonprofit organization helping building professionals adopt green practices and grow the market for efficient, healthy homes – awarded 340 Fremont with the GreenPoint Rating after receiving 122 points on the rating check list.
Build It Green, as a third party verifier of green homes, has certified more homes than any other residential certification system in California. The organization also works with local governments to shape building codes and create climate action plans and policies to dramatically reduce energy and water consumption.
“The GreenPoint Rating demonstrates our commitment to designing places that complement the culture of a specific city,” said Glenn Rescalvo, Partner at Handel Architects. “340 Fremont exemplifies San Francisco’s pledge to create sustainable and environmentally-friendly buildings.”
In order to achieve the coveted GreenPoint Rating for 340 Fremont, Handel Architects incorporated numerous sustainable features and utilized eco-friendly practices when designing the building. Handel incorporated green materials in the foundation and structural frame, exterior, plumbing, heating ventilation and air conditioning, finishes, appliances, and more.
An exclusive, new apartment community unmatched in the city of San Francisco, 340 Fremont’s units are now available for rent through Equity Residential. The 40-story tower is a crisp new addition to the city skyline and represents the ultimate in luxury urban living punctuated by inspiring design and amenities. Interior tones purposefully evoke Northern California living, from wine country to the coast. The 24-hour concierge, Resident’s Club, full amenity floor, rooftop terrace, intimate resident lounges and state-of-the art fitness center deliver a resort-level experience commensurate with luxury urban living. Located in the rapidly emerging Rincon Hill neighborhood, 340 Fremont residents are steps away from the Embarcadero, Financial District and South Beach, and have direct freeway access to the Bay Bridge and Silicon Valley.
