January 10, 2018 – Foster City, CA – MidPen Housing Corporation, one of the nation’s leading non-profit affordable housing developers and owners, has appointed Janine Lind as Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective January 8th. Since its foundation in 1970, MidPen has developed over 8,000 affordable homes for residents across 11 Northern California counties and employs a staff of nearly 450 people.
In this newly created role, Ms. Lind will oversee ongoing business operations for MidPen, driving towards operational excellence and promoting interdepartmental collaboration. As COO, she will have responsibility over MidPen’s day to day operations allowing the President to focus on strategic planning, new partnerships, and sector advocacy – critical components in today’s changing landscape of affordable housing. MidPen’s Property Management and Resident Services Corporations will report to Ms. Lind as will the Human Resources and IT departments.

A seasoned real estate executive with 25 years of experience in property management, Ms. Lind’s diverse expertise spans affordable, market-rate, senior, workforce, privatized military, and both single- and multi-family housing. She has managed property operations in 22 states, overseeing portfolios ranging from 15,000 to 40,000 units.

Ms. Lind comes to MidPen most recently from Progress Residential in Arizona where, as Senior Vice President, she was responsible for the strategic direction and execution of managing over 23,000 single family rental homes. Prior to Progress, Ms. Lind held leadership roles at Edgewood Management in Maryland, Guardian Management in Oregon and Winn Companies in Massachusetts.
Ms. Lind received an M.B.A. in Real Estate from Marylhurst University and a B.A. in Marketing from The American College of Applied Arts. She holds a Certified Property Manager designation through the Institute for Real Estate Management.
