JMP Group Appoints Ryan Abbe Head of Real Estate Investment Banking

SAN FRANCISCO – JMP Group LLC (NYSE: JMP), an investment banking and alternative asset management firm, announced today that Ryan Abbe has been named head of real estate investment banking at JMP Securities. A managing director based in the firm’s San Francisco headquarters, Mr. Abbe was also appointed to JMP Securities’ investment banking management committee.

Mr. Abbe joined JMP Securities in 2004 and has since concentrated on a range of businesses within the real estate industry, including real estate investment trusts, land developers, homebuilders, and real estate-related technology and services companies. Prior to joining JMP Securities, Mr. Abbe was a member of the financial institutions group at Piper Jaffray. During his career, he has executed equity and debt capital raising transactions with total proceeds of more than $30 billion and strategic advisory transactions with a total value exceeding $8 billion. He holds a B.A. from Macalester College.
