San Francisco – Steinberg Architects, an international design firm, announced the addition of June A. Grant, AIA, LEED AP, as Director of Design and Managing Director to its San Francisco office.
Grant has over a decade of experience as a design architect, primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a focus on research-based solutions, innovative technologies and sustainable planning, design and development. Most recently, she was an Associate Principal at AECOM, an international engineering, architecture, and construction management firm.
“June brings a holistic approach to our San Francisco office,” said Rob Steinberg, president, Steinberg Architects. “Her passion for architecture, the pursuit of design excellence, and advanced design technologies, coupled with her prior history in business and financial analysis, makes her uniquely suited to transform and shepherd our team into the next generation of leadership.”
Grant’s design work encapsulates several categories: high-performance building design, interactive-learning and work environments, as well as corporate and retail design and architecture. Her portfolio includes recent high profile projects such as the Net-Zero Energy, Sustainability Base at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, Calif.; as well as the new GE Software Center of Excellence, San Ramon, Calif.
Grant has a master’s degree from Yale University’s School of Architecture and a bachelor’s degree in international finance & economics from Baruch College, CUNY, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. A frequent guest speaker, she’s presented at conferences such as the Autodesk Sustainability Summit, the Johnson & Johnson Energy Forum, and BrightTALK’s Green Building Summit, as well as numerous K-12 career seminars. Grant is active in the American Institute of Architects, Bay Area Leaders in Sustainable Architecture (BALSA), San Francisco Planning & Urban Research Association (SPUR), and is a member of the board of directors for the Jack London District Association.
