SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. – Mayacama, Northern California’s leading private club, top-rated 18-hole golf course and residential community, is pleased to invite its members and their guests to experience its new luxurious three-bedroom villas, refreshed bar lounge and outdoor sunset terrace. The expansion and newly refreshed spaces have arrived just in time for the holiday season, as members flock to wine country to indulge in its world-famous food and wine and participate in the club’s festive celebrations.
“The number one request from members and their guests is the ability to stay in the Mayacama residences, so we’re thrilled to add four new villas to the estate and to open the new bar lounge and outdoor sunset terrace for guests’ enjoyment,” said Jonathan Wilhelm, Mayacama’s managing partner. “Additionally, adding three new vintner members to our wine experience is very exciting as we are committed both to supporting our winemaking neighbors and to providing the Mayacama community with insider access to incredible wines.”
The four gracious new villas each comprise 2,700 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space to take full advantage of wine country’s beautiful year-round climate. The three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath villas are perfect both for couples traveling together and for families. Each artfully crafted structure includes two master suites, each with a private veranda, separated by a central great room replete with harvest dining table, kitchen with built-in grill and limestone fireplace. Each villa also has the use of a dedicated golf cart for activities. In Spring 2020, Mayacama plans to break ground on six additional villas, upping the total numbers of on-site residences to 26. The refreshed clubhouse and terraces provide for an enhanced experience with plush furniture and additional outdoor seating and lounge areas.
Mayacama is equally excited to introduce three new vintner members – Coursey Graves, Lambert Bridge and Hamel Family Wines – to its heralded wine experience, bringing the vintner membership program to a new total of 43 members. The wine experience at Mayacama explores a collection of the world’s notable vintners, names that are conspicuous atop the rankings of significant competitions and in the pages of well-respected publications. Unique to Mayacama is a 3,500-square-foot temperature-controlled wine cave that holds 500 wine lockers where members can store their collections of fine vintages. Additionally, Mayacama hosts regular social events including private members-only wine outings, dinners and tastings.
Mayacama was founded in 1999 after the Wilhelm Family purchased 675 acres from Marv Soiland and famed Peanuts cartoonist Charles M. Schulz to create a Jack Nicklaus signature 18-hole golf course that is currently rated in the top 100. At the center of the property stands a 40,000-square-foot clubhouse that is host to luxurious amenities including a private spa, fine dining restaurants, fitness center, children’s game room and robust summer camps, professional golf shop, private meeting spaces, an expansive wine grotto, and a two-story wine cellar. For members looking to soak in the sunshine, the estate features a spacious pool with snack bar and a tennis court ideal for members looking to enhance their tennis skills.
