Michiel Schriever Joins Firewood Marketing as Executive Creative Director

Firewood broadens creative capabilities for clients and expands leadership of growing creative team

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (May 17, 2017) – Firewood Marketing has hired seasoned creative director and brand strategist Michiel Schriever as Executive Creative Director. Schriever offers the agency expanded creative leadership and expertise for its growing Bay Area client roster.

Schriever most recently was Creative Director at design studio Ammunition in San Francisco, where his responsibilities included user experience design, packaging, branding, and marketing for the emerging-market smartphone Obi Worldphone. Previously, he served in progressive roles at Apollo Education Group, starting as Creative Director for University of Phoenix, and progressing to Vice President, Executive Creative Director for Apollo Education Group. Additionally, he was Senior Creative Director at Autodesk, where he was responsible for the creative development and execution of the Autodesk brand worldwide. He was awarded several patents for innovations in user experience designs for Autodesk’s 3D modeling, visual effects, and editing software. His experience also includes roles as Creative Director and Chief User Interface Designer at Discreet Logic.

Schriever will work closely with DJ Carey, Firewood’s Chief Creative Officer, providing leadership and guidance for the agency’s 40-person creative team across their diversifying client roster that includes Airbnb, Dropbox, Giftly, Google, LinkedIn, and Simplilearn.

Firewood offers all facets of digital marketing, a full suite of creative services, strategy and planning, and event management services. The creative team recently broadened its capabilities in user experience, content marketing, video production, and web development, and they will be looking for opportunities to help clients tell more immersive stories through the use of new and emerging technologies such as machine learning, augmented and virtual reality.
