Miller Starr Regalia Names Litigators Jana Contreras And Allison Wopschall As Shareholders

January 10, 2018 (Walnut Creek, CA) – Miller Starr Regalia (MSR), a preeminent California real estate law firm for more than 50 years, announced today that two litigators, Jana L. Contreras and Allison K. Wopschall, have been named shareholders. Both joined MSR as lateral associates in 2014 and work in the firm’s Walnut Creek headquarters.

Contreras focuses her practice on complex real estate and commercial disputes in state and federal courts. She has represented individuals, property owners, developers, retailers, utilities, financial institutions, and government entities in a wide variety of real estate and business matters, including commercial leasing, construction, environmental contamination, easement, and contract and partnership disputes. Contreras also represents clients in eminent domain and inverse condemnation proceedings. In addition to being a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) and the Real Property Subsection of the Contra Costa County Bar Association (CCCBA), Contreras is part of the East Bay Chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW).

Wopschall’s practice focuses on business disputes and negotiation in the area of contracts, commercial leasing, real estate transactions, partnership and corporate disputes, and environmental contamination. She also represents clients in eminent domain and inverse condemnation proceedings. Her clients include property owners, developers, and managers, national retailers, tenants, and financial institutions, among others. Wopschall has significant experience in both state and federal court at the trial and appellate court levels, as well as in arbitration and judicial reference proceedings. She is the Program Chair of the Real Estate Section of the Contra Costa County Bar Association (CCCBA) and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the ICSC Next Generation San Francisco and East Bay Program Committees.
