Right off the Lawrence Expressway at 3555 Monroe Street in Santa Clara, the newly built Monticello Apartment Homes opens for leasing with tenants expected to start moving in this August. Strategically located less than two blocks away from the Lawrence Caltrain Station, the development makes luxury living seamlessly compatible with Bay Area work commutes. The developer, Irvine Company Apartment Communities also serves as property manager for this large 825-home development. Sitting on a 16-acre parcel in close proximity to several local schools, the mixed-use development features a competitive 43,000 square feet of retail space, catered to residents.
“Monticello brings first-of-its-kind sophisticated, metropolitan living to Santa Clara,” said Chaz Mueller, president, Irvine Company Apartment Communities. “With luxury on-site amenities and close proximity to the Lawrence Caltrain station, Monticello offers the best of city living in the South Bay.”
The sophistication of these apartments is readily apparent upon viewing the exterior as Irvine prides itself on a high attention to detail in terms of aesthetics. By intentionally choosing lush and mature plant installations for landscaping, such as the majestic 35-foot palm trees lining the perimeter, the property feels homey and inviting from day one. The landscaping is maintained using the latest irrigation technology for efficient water use.
Though the development is technically several buildings, there’s an artful appearance of connectivity through a promenade and grassy walkways that links the buildings and other outdoor spaces like themed courtyards, dining areas and two swimming pools. The architectural design is a blend of formal Mediterranean, Palladian and early Californian, merging peacefully with the resort-style outdoor area decors.
The apartments themselves are one and two-bedroom units ranging from 704 to 1,230 square feet. Modern appliances, high-end finishes and walk-in closets give homes a masterful feel, while in-unit laundry facilities provide convenience. Also inside, residents will find amenities such as a dog wash station, bike shop, clubroom and a great room equipped with Wi-Fi and a parcel delivery room. A 3,760 square foot fitness center services the whole development with the most modern equipment.
The retail offerings will likely top the list of resident favorites as there isn’t much in the way of shopping in the immediate vicinity. The commercial destinations in the development will include a small-format grocery store and a free-standing restaurant among other merchants. Potential tenants are currently under review by management. Retail parking will be both external surface parking as well as spaces in the resident garage located at-grade beneath the units.
Throughout the building process Irvine focused on partnering with teams well-reputed in their respective trades and was proud to work alongside architect MVE & Partners, EPT Design for landscaping, BKF Engineers, LDI Mechanical, AMPAM plumbers, Helix Electric and Aquatic Technologies.
Monticello leasing offices open Saturday, July 16 and prospective tenants can expect to budget between $2,600 and $4,000 for monthly rent.
