DePasquale promoted to EVP of the Santa Clarita-based landscape management company
SANTA CLARITA, CA, Jan. 30, 2017 – Gothic Landscape announced today that Nada Duna, a 29-year veteran of BrightView Landscape (formerly ValleyCrest Companies), has joined the company’s maintenance division as chief operating officer, effective immediately.
Nicholas DePasquale, currently vice president of the maintenance division, has been promoted to executive vice president. He will continue to be responsible for the division’s current 10 regional and branch teams.
“We are fortunate and delighted to have someone with Nada’s experience and track record of success join our company,” said Jon Georgio, chief executive officer of Gothic Landscape. “We now have two accomplished executives leading our maintenance division and look forward to them helping us achieve our ambitious growth goals over the next several years.”
Duna, who began her career at ValleyCrest Companies as a head gardener and landscape leader in 1987 in San Jose, CA, held a series of progressively senior positions over the next three decades, ultimately becoming a senior vice president in 2006.
“At ValleyCrest, Nada had an impressive track record of revenue growth, sustained profit performance, and customer and talent retention and is an avid and active promoter of sustainable practices in the industry,” added Ron Georgio, who will continue to serve as the maintenance division’s chief executive officer. “Nada is a servant leader first and believes that a service culture towards team members, especially front line employees, is key to superior customer service and sustained performance.”
Duna earned a B.A. degree in agricultural engineering and M.A. degree in plant pathology from American University of Beirut and a B.A. degree in horticulture from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. She also is a member of the Building Owners and Managers Assn., International Facility Management Assn., National Assn. of Professional Women and a board member of Joint Venture Silicon Valley and San Jose Job Corps.
“I am thrilled to be joining Gothic, a company that shares my passion for the industry, focus on customers and people and doing what’s right,” said Duna. “I am confident Gothic is well positioned to take advantage of the growth opportunities ahead and that we can collectively create the next generation, innovative landscape maintenance company.”
DePasquale joined Gothic in 2000 as a management trainee. He became the Los Angeles branch manager of Gothic Grounds Management in 2003, the California regional manager in 2006 and vice president in 2009, during which time he led the division through a significant growth phase. DePasquale earned his B.A. degree in sociology from the University of California Los Angeles. He is a certified arborist, a landscape industry certified manager and a qualified applicator.
“We welcome Nada to the Gothic family and to our special culture rooted in our extraordinary commitment to customer service,” DePasquale said. “I look forward to working with her and the entire grounds management team in continuing to build a highly successful maintenance business.”
