San Francisco, California—Studio O+A has promoted Michelle Richter to senior designer, expanding its senior team to meet the requirements of a growing schedule of projects. O+A principal and director of design Denise Cherry announced the promotion.
Michelle graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from North Dakota State University in 2007 and practiced in Denver, Colorado before relocating to San Francisco in 2013. “I was looking for a change,” she says. “And joining O+A was a big decision factor. I found I was thinking in ways similar to O+A’s approach even as an outsider.”
Michelle joined the firm as a project designer and has worked with a variety of clients including Livefyre, 888 Brannan, Uber and Yelp. As senior designer she will take the design lead on upcoming projects. “I want to take a really active role in how we’re pushing our future forward,” she says. Studio O+A is a San Francisco-based interior design firm serving companies nationwide. Founded by Primo Orpilla and Verda Alexander in 1991, O+A’s original mission was to bring sophisticated urban design to Silicon Valley start-ups and the venture firms who supported them. That start-up mentality is still a key feature of the O+A aesthetic, but through the years, the firm’s mission has broadened to include a range of services for a diverse client base that extends to all parts of the country.
