PAE Continues to Expand Bay Area Presence with Four New Hires

Leading West Coast Engineering firm adds new employees, knocks down walls in San Francisco office

June 17, 2014 – San Francisco, Calif.PAEa leading west coast engineering firm specializing in sustainable design recently welcomed four new employees to its Bay Area operation to support its growing client roster. The growth of the firm’s San Francisco office includes physical expansion as well, knocking down a few walls and conducting a handful of tenant improvements to make room for more employees.

We’re excited to be in the middle of California’s booming market and have the opportunity to work with some of today’s leaders in sustainable design industry.”

PAE works to design buildings using cutting edge technology and innovations in sustainability. Notable Bay Area projects include Facebook’s Headquarters in Menlo Park, the E&J Gallo Headquarters Building, Stanford’s Hoover Conference Center, a new lab building at California State University – Fresno and corporate headquarters for Peet’s Coffee and Cliff Bar. Additionally, PAE led the engineering team for what is anticipated to become the world’s largest commercial Living Building, The Bullitt Center in Seattle, Wash.

PAE’s growth has not been limited to its San Francisco office. The firm has hired twenty new employees within the year across all of its offices including its Portland headquarters, Seattle office, located within the Bullitt Center, and adding an office in Eugene, Ore. to support the firm’s growth into Southern Oregon.

New Hires:

Christian J. Agulles, PE, LEED AP: Christian is a licensed mechanical engineer with more than 20 years of experience joining PAE as an Associate Principal. Before joining the firm, Christian was a Senior Vice President and Managing Director of WSP’s Washington, D.C. office. His resume features many notable projects including the American Medical Association of Medical Colleges Headquarters in Washington D.C., California State University Chico Student Services Center, Stockton Events Center and Rand Corporate Headquarters in Santa Monica, CA.

Carlos Garcia: Carlos brings over two decades of project management and technical design experience to PAE. Coming to PAE from Mazzetti, where he served as an Associate and Project Manager, Carlos specializes in managing teams for healthcare projects of all sizes and types. Carlos has completed a wide variety of projects at hospitals throughout the Bay Area, including John Muir, El Camino Hospital, Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and California Pacific Medical Center.

Vic Mehta, PE, LEED AP: Vic is a professional engineer with eight years of experience in electrical design. Mehta has experience with several international projects, including the Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar. As a result, Vic is skilled with complex and technical decision making as well as interfacing with project stakeholders and specialty contractors. Vic’s experience encompasses a range of projects types; among these are data centers, commercial kitchens, conference spaces and more.

Justin King, CTS: Justin is a Certified Technology Specialist with 10 years of experience in the design and development of integrated building technology systems. A valuable new addition to the PAE team, Justin specializes in maximizing the flow of information and communication between project users. Justin’s long term clients include the University of California, the City of San Francisco, and several Bay Area community colleges.
