Reed Payne to Lead CBRE’s San Francisco Peninsula Offices

PALO ALTO, Calif. – May 11, 2021 – CBRE announced today it has hired industry veteran Reed Payne to assume the role of Senior Managing Director of its San Francisco Peninsula offices, including Palo Alto and Burlingame.

Mr. Payne will oversee CBRE’s Advisory businesses in these offices, replacing Todd Husak, who now leads CBRE’s Tech and Media Practice Group.

“Reed is a seasoned real estate professional whose experience and acumen will translate to superior outcomes for our clients. We are honored to welcome him back to CBRE,” said Joe Wallace, president of CBRE’s Northern California Division.

Most recently, Mr. Payne served as Executive Managing Director at Colliers, overseeing brokerage services for the Silicon Valley. Before Colliers, he ran the Northern California and Nevada brokerage operations for Kidder Mathews.

Mr. Payne began his commercial real estate career with CBRE, joining its Oakland office as an industrial broker after graduating from the University of California at Berkeley. He held numerous positions during his CBRE tenure, spanning the office, R&D and industrial sectors across San Francisco, the East Bay, Silicon Valley and the Peninsula. Mr. Payne has handled more than $1.1 billion in sales and lease transactions over the course of his career in brokerage.

“The San Francisco Peninsula market is one of the most dynamic in the U.S. With multiple large and emerging tech companies and arguably the strongest life science market in the country, the future of the commercial real estate sector on the Peninsula is very bright,” said Mr. Payne.

Mr. Payne serves on the board of the Silicon Valley Brokers Association and is an active member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), in addition to supporting a number of local community organizations.
