XL Construction is pleased to welcome Richard Walker as Chief Operating Officer. Richard’s proven leadership and advocacy for a strong company culture will further drive XL’s commitment to building to improve the lives of our clients, partners and employees.
Throughout his 23-plus years in the industry, Richard has held roles in project management, risk management, business development, executive leadership and strategic planning. As COO, Richard will provide executive oversight of XL’s operations, market development, best practices, and staffing, allowing long-time EVP Mario Wijtman to focus on client relations, large project execution and staff development.

With a number of large, ground-up projects on his resume, Richard’s experience and perspective will serve to guide XL in its ongoing growth in Northern California, ensuring consistent commitment to safety, quality, operational excellence, and the needs of our clients and industry partners.
In addition to his industry experience, Richard serves on the Executive Board of HomeAid Northern California, and is active with NAIOP and the Urban Land Institute.
