NEW YORK – Nationally recognized architecture and interior design firm Huntsman Architectural Group announces the addition of Sandra Tripp, NCIDQ IIDA LEED AP as managing director of its New York office. In this role, Sandy will oversee business operations, manage the design direction of key projects, and support business development efforts. “Adding Sandy to our team strengthens our position in the New York market, where we have been actively growing our staff and services” shares Sascha Wagner, CID LEED AP ID+C, Huntsman’s president and CEO. “Sandy’s attention to client service paired with her ability to lead and organize teams makes her an ideal candidate to help manage operations as well as engage in staff development.”
Sandy approaches the practice of interior design with a focus on translating client goals into functional, sustainable, and branded built environments. Throughout her 25 year career, she has worked on a wide range of projects for a variety of clients including financial services, technology, media, healthcare, and retail companies. An example of her ability to reinvent spaces is LA PALESTRA Center for Preventative Medicine in Manhattan, which entailed a renovation and transformation of the former ballroom of the Hotel Des Artists into a medical facility that holistically integrates health and well-being with fitness and exercise. Sandy also has had the honor of working on the renovation and restoration of the United Nations Secretariat Tower in Manhattan. She was part of the design team that upgraded the 1,000,000sf complex and its building systems to improve safety, sustainability, and efficiency while maintaining the original design by legendary architects Oscar Niemeyer and Le Corbusier. Sandy’s other notable projects include Google’s New York urban campus on Eighth Avenue, corporate headquarters for JPMorgan Chase on Park Avenue, and a new showroom for BMW and MINI of Manhattan on 57th Street.
Sandy is a certified interior designer who received her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY. Prior to joining Huntsman, she served as director of design and new projects for Equinox Fitness where she oversaw the planning and design of new club facilities in New York, Massachusetts, California, and Canada. She has also held roles as workplace strategist and senior designer at Perkins Eastman and design director at HLW International.
