SERA Architects Hires Veronica Hinkley Reck to Lead the Expansion of California Housing Practice

Oakland, CA (November 4, 2019) – SERA Architects, a multi-disciplinary architecture and design firm committed to sustainable placemaking, today announced that Veronica Hinkley Reck has joined as the Director of Housing, California. In this role, Hinkley Reck leads the growth of the firm’s Oakland-based Housing Studio through innovative, high-quality designs that address the many issues relevant to delivering work that will help meet the state’s crucial housing needs.

Hinkley Reck is an award-winning architect with more than 20 years of experience designing bold, imaginative housing solutions in the Bay Area and San Diego, CA. Before joining SERA, she was the founder of and Design Director for Ignition Architecture, a San Francisco-based architecture firm with expertise in affordable and market-rate, multi-unit, urban infill housing projects. Select projects include Octavia Court, an affordable housing project with art studios and a gallery in Hayes Valley that serves the San Francisco developmentally disabled population, and The Geode a community-driven, 5-building, mixed-use project in the San Francisco Shipyard. She also led the design of the Channel and MB 360O mixed-use housing projects in San Francisco’s Mission Bay, as well as high-rise market-rate housing and hospitality work in San Diego.
