Palo Alto, Calif. (June 25, 2018) – Stanford Shopping Center is excited to announce the hiring of Steven Lichak as its new general manager. He will directly oversee the daily operations at one of Simon’s best-performing properties that is defining new standards of luxury in Silicon Valley.
The New York native brings over a decade of experience in specialty and big box retail. Lichak built his career in store management, planning and operations as well as visual merchandising. At Stanford Shopping Center, he is responsible for local leasing, tenant relations, building operations, security and marketing efforts. Additionally, he is the key liaison between various community partners and strategic organizations.
“I am passionate about physical retail and providing guests with the best possible experience,” said Lichak. “Stanford Shopping Center is one of the top ten centers in the nation in retail sales per square foot, and I am thrilled to engage our guests, retailers, local community and partners in the future of retail already thriving at our center. Innovation is the signature of the Bay Area, and Stanford Shopping Center reflects this energy.”
Prior to his selection as the center’s general manager, Lichak worked as Macy’s senior operations executive in both New York and New Jersey. Mostly recently, Lichak held the position of assistant general manager at Westfield’s San Francisco Centre. He also holds a BFA in Visual Communications and Business Administration from Cazenovia College.
Stanford Shopping Center was recently reinvigorated to entice new generations of young, casually elegant, well-heeled shoppers. The 120,000 square-foot transformation that further elevated the guest experience. Catering to some of the most exclusive luxury brands, it significantly enhanced the retail environment to reflect the Bay Area’s upscale and outdoor lifestyle. The enhancement of the property remained true to the center’s history of casual elegance in a spectacular garden setting. Stanford Shopping Center’s dazzling look embodies the highest levels of luxury, style and guest engagement.
Most recently, the center welcomed high-fashion retailer Hermès with a 6,000-square-foot store, which reinforces Simon’s commitment to the community and meeting the demands of the sophisticated clientele that visits the center. Stanford Shopping Center looks forward to the opening of the first Jeffrey on the West Coast this August with a curated collection of luxury and fresh-off-of-the-runway designer fashions.
