Irvine, CA — Taylor Design names Erica Steenstra, a 25-year interior design industry veteran, to Director of Environments. In this role, Steenstra bolsters Taylor Design’s strategy-based design within its three practice areas encompassing architecture, environments and strategies.
Erica has a wide breadth of experience in translating a client’s vision, purpose, and culture into innovative facilities in Healthcare, Higher Education, Corporate, Science and Technology and Sports and Entertainment. Moving forward Steenstra will take a leadership role in ensuring quality throughout the firm’s portfolio of interior work – setting a high standard for the environments delivered to its spectrum of clients.
Steenstra brings to Taylor Design experience with the Walt Disney Company as Interior Design Manager of Corporate Design. In this client-side role she managed consultants in all aspects of projects and served as an in-house designer to corporate leadership. Prior to this she was an associate and interior design leader for NBBJ in Los Angeles.
“Erica brings a unique perspective to Taylor Design having experienced the design process from the client side. She understands the decision-making process from that point of view. This helps keep us aligned with the needs and priorities of the client throughout the process,” said Randy Regier, president, Taylor Design.
“What appealed to me most about joining Taylor Design is that we lead with strategy. The team undertakes a true discovery process when first working with the client which is an exciting and thought-provoking way to realize great design,” said Steenstra.
Her 25-year career also includes a role as principal of her own consulting practice and Associate with Fields Devereaux and HLW among other significant positions. She holds a bachelor’s degree of fine arts from the University of Massachusetts.
