TCA Architects Expands Hospitality Practice Group

(Oakland, CA) – TCA Architects, a multi-disciplinary architectural and design firm in Oakland, CA, has just hired renowned architect, William Nord, AIA, LEED AP, to the firm as Principal and Hospitality Practice Leader; and Paul Adamson, FAIA, LEED AP as Hospitality Studio Director, announced TCA Architects President Aram Chahbazian. Operating from TCA’s Irvine, CA office, Nord will leverage more than 30 years of collaborative international design and design-management experience across sectors from luxury hotels and resorts to large-scale urban mixed-use projects. Adamson will operate out of the firm’s Oakland, CA office, bringing more than 20 years of high-profile hospitality experience to the firm.

Prior to joining TCA, Nord was President of NORD Architects, which focused on luxury hotels and resorts. He also held a leadership role with WATG’s architectural practice in Irvine. A few of Nord’s past projects includes Encore at Wynn Las Vegas; The Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa in Huntington Beach, CA; Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort & Spa in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; and extensive renovation of the historic resort, The Breakers, in Palm Beach, FL.

Studio Director Paul Adamson’s two decades of experience includes design work on San Francisco landmarks such as the Intercontinental Hotel, the Fairmont Heritage Place at Ghirardelli Square, and the W Hotel.

Prior to TCA, Mr. Adamson was a Senior Associate at Hornberger + Worstell Architects, recognized for their design and master planning of destination resorts, conference hotels and wellness facilities.  His architecture experience also includes Mixed-Use, Residential and Retail as well as Civic, University Student Life and housing Facilities, Adaptive Re-use and Historic Preservation.
