Office Depot Stationing Itself at 280 Metro Center in Colma
August 20, 2012 – Todd Oliver with Terranomics Retail Services represented tenant Office Depot in the lease of 14,446 square feet of end cap space in the former Magnolia Hi-Fi space at the 280 Metro Center in Colma. 280 Metro is located at Colma Boulevard and Junipero Serra Boulevard and is owned by Kimco Realty Corporation. Office Depot will be joining other key tenants in the center to include Bed, Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, Home Depot Pro, Marshall’s, Nordstrom Rack, Old Navy and Ulta.

Petaluma’s New East Washington Place Adds New Eateries to Strong, Growing Roster: Five Guys Burgers & Fries and Subway
August 20, 2012 – Matt Kircher, John Schaefer and Katie Singer with Terranomics Retail Services have represented property owner Regency Centers in lease negotiations with two eateries at the new East Washington Place shopping center in Petaluma. Five Guys Burgers & Fries and Subway recently penned long-term deals and will be joining the star-studded cast of the new ±380,000-square-foot Target-anchored center. East Washington Place recently completed deals with several new tenants—many national—to include major retailers such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, T.J. Maxx/Homegoods, and Sprouts Grocery. Five Guys leased 2,300 square feet of end cap space and Subway, which was also solely represented by Schaefer in negotiations, took 1,300 square feet of inline space.

East Washington Place is strategically positioned at East Washington Street and Highway 101, nearby the city’s future SMART (Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit) station and current Amtrak bus station. Plans for the new shopping center call for roughly 380,000 square feet of retail and commercial space on almost 34 acres on the former Kenilworth Junior High School site adjacent to Highway 101. Construction began earlier this year on the new East Washington Place shopping center, which is slated for an opening in summer 2013.

Goodwill Industries Expands with New Store at Renovated Fairway Park Shopping Center
August 20, 2012 – Mark Koenig and Annie Jabuka with Terranomics Retail Services have represented landlord FPA Hayward Associates, LLC in the lease of 6,600 square feet of inline space to Goodwill Industries at the Fairway Park Shopping Center in Hayward. Goodwill is scheduled to open its new East Bay store in late 2012. The newly renovated Fairway Park Shopping Center is located at Mission Boulevard and Rousseau Street, near Union City and Fremont borders, and features tenants such as Fresh & Easy, Rite-Aid and Dollar Tree.

Napa Tourist Center Sublets Former Talbots Building in Downtown Napa
August 20, 2012 – John Schaefer with Terranomics Retail Services represented master tenant Talbots in securing a subtenant for its 4,054-square-foot freestanding building in downtown Napa. The subtenant is Napa Tourist Center, which penned a long-term sublease through the completion of Talbot’s initial lease term that runs into early 2022. The property is set in a high profile location at 1331 First Street (at Franklin Street), across from the entrance to Napa Town Center in the midst of downtown Napa’s “North First Street Shopping Corridor”. The property is owned by Vaughn R Walker, which was also represented by Schaefer in negotiations.

Panda Express Opening 87th Bay Area Restaurant at Diablo Plaza in Downtown Area of Novato
August 20, 2012 – In their 10th year of rolling out Panda Express in the San Francisco Bay Area, Terranomics Retail Services’ Sharon Carmichael and Michael Seigel have represented tenant Panda Express in the lease of 2,260 square feet at the Diablo Plaza retail center in the downtown area of Novato, marking the successful Asian-dining chain’s 87th location in the Bay Area. Jennifer Hibbitts and Annie Jabuka also of Terranomics represented the landlord, Donald Walters Revocable Trust, in the transaction. Panda Express signed a long-term lease agreement for its new fast-casual restaurant space that boasts beautiful atrium-like glass line frontage with direct exposure along Diablo Avenue (between Novato and Redwood boulevards). Diablo Plaza sits right across the street from the Novato Fair Shopping Center anchored by Safeway and Rite-Aid; Panda Express will be positioned directly across the street from Safeway. Panda Express has 1,468 stores nationally and in Puerto Rico.

The Habit Continues to Grill Up New Locations in Northern California
August 20, 2012 – Annie Jabuka and John Schaefer with Terranomics Retail Services represented tenant The Habit Burger Grill in the long-term lease of 2,300 square feet of end cap space at Amador Plaza in Dublin for one of its newest restaurant openings. Amador Plaza is located on Amador Valley Boulevard, just northwest of the junction of Interstates 580 and 680. The Habit Burger Grill is a fast-growing chain with over 50 locations that originated over forty years ago in Goleta near UC Santa Barbara. The Habit’s new Dublin restaurant is targeted for a spring 2013 opening and is among a handful of locations the chain has recently selected to open in Northern California.

Chik-fil-A Buys 0.71 Acre Site for $2.7M in Novato, Will Broaden North Bay Locations
August 20, 2012 – Mike Costa with Terranomics Retail Services represented buyer Chik-fil-A in the purchase of ±0.71 acres of land in Novato for $2,700,000 ($87.15 psf). The seller was PDP Rowland, LLC. The property is located at 35 Rowand Way and presently houses a Carl’s Jr, which will continue to operate its burger chain for the next year or two via a lease through new owner Chik-fil-A. Eventually, Chik-fil-A intends to remodel and open a new restaurant on the site. Per its web site, once opened, this would be Chik-fil-A’s second location in the North Bay Area, with the other positioned in Fairfield. It’s other statewide locations are predominantly in the Southern California and Sacramento regions.

Starbucks Continues to Pour on New Openings in Sacramento Valley
August 20, 2012 – James Chung with Terranomics Retail Services represented tenant Starbucks in the lease of 1,700 square feet of end cap space for a new coffee house at Ashley Avenue and West Main Street in Woodland. The property is owned by Ashley & Main, LLC. This marks the third recent lease by the popular coffee company in Sacramento Valley. Just a few months ago, Starbucks had also recently signed new leases in Citrus Heights and Granite Bay. Starbucks is scheduled to open its new Woodland locale in mid 2013.

Ono Hawaiian BBQ Has Summer Opening for New Restaurant in North San Jose
August 20, 2012 – Drew Greenspan with Terranomics Retail Services represented tenant Ono Hawaiian BBQ in the lease of 1,885 square feet of end cap space at the North Park Plaza shopping center in North San Jose. Ono Hawaiian BBQ’s new space is adjacent to Panera Bakery & Café in the plaza. The property is located at the NEC Oakland Road and Murphy Avenue and is owned by Sobrato Development Company. Ono Hawaiian BBQ provides a Hawaiian dining experience with a selection of “plate lunch” foods and Island cuisine.

GameStop Continues Growth with New Store at Walmart Plaza in Rohnert Park
August 20, 2012 – Sharon Carmichael and Michael Seigel with Terranomics Retail Services represented tenant GameStop in the lease of 1,802 square feet of end cap space at the Walmart Plaza shopping center in Rohnert Park. The plaza is located on Redwood Drive and is owned by Codding Investments, Inc. GameStop is the world’s largest video game retailer with over 6,600 stores in 15 countries worldwide and online.

Togo’s Setting Up Sandwich Shop in Danville Town & Country, Opening November
August 20, 2012 – Patrick McGaughey and James Chung with Terranomics Retail Services represented tenant Togo’s in the lease of 1,800 square feet of inline space at Danville Town & Country shopping center in Danville. The center is located at 589-629 San Ramon Valley Boulevard and is owned by Danville Town & Country. Togo’s is scheduled to open in November.

GNC Flexes NorCal Locations with New Store at Pine Creek Shopping Center
August 20, 2012 – Blair Wheatley and James Teare, SCLS with Terranomics Retail Services represented landlord Kimco Realty Corporation in the lease of 1,260 square feet of end cap space to new tenant GNC at the Pine Creek Shopping Center in Grass Valley. The property is located at NWQ of Highway 49 and McKnight Way. Pine Creek is anchored by a Raley’s Supermarket. GNC is scheduled to open in November.

Teabo Café Coming to Oakshade Town Center in Davis
August 20, 2012 – Blair Wheatley and James Teare, SCLS with Terranomics Retail Services represented property owner Regency Centers in the leasing 1,200 square feet of inline space to new tenant Teabo Café at the Oakshade Towner Center in Davis, CA. The property is located at 2191 Cowell Boulevard, Suite E. Per its web site, Teabo Café is expected to open on October 13th. Oakshade Town Center provides Teabo a convenient location for UC Davis students and the Davis community.
