Target Opening New 140,000 SF Store at Transforming Santa Clara Town Centre
December 10, 2013 – Matt Kircher with Terranomics Retail Services represented tenant Target Corporation for a new ±140,000-square-foot store at the transforming Santa Clara Town Centre (formerly known as Main Street Plaza) located at the SWC El Camino Real and Scott Blvd. Target will be the marquee retailer of the center that is currently amidst a massive renovation and was formerly anchored by Mervyn’s. With construction work already started on Target—as well as the entire center earlier this year—Target is scheduled to open its new Santa Clara store in fall 2014. The center is owned by Byer Properties and will reportedly be retaining several of the existing retailers, plus adding several new tenants upon completion of the makeover.

Target to Join Santa Rosa’s Coddingtown Mall as Co-Anchor, Replaces Gottschalks
December 10, 2013 – Matt Kircher with Terranomics Retail Services represented tenant Target Corporation on a new ±143,500-square-foot store at the Coddingtown Mall in northwest Santa Rosa. With an opening coming in the fall of 2014, Target’s new store is replacing the two-story former Gottschalks building, as well as carved into a portion of the south mall shops. The big-box retailer will serve as a co-anchor alongside Macy’s, JCPenney, Whole Foods, and Old Navy. Jointly owned by Simon Property Group and Codding Enterprises, the ±930,000-square-foot Coddingtown Mall features over 60 specialty stores and is conveniently located off Highway 101 and Guerneville Road/Steele Lane.

John’s Incredible Pizza Opening New 60,000 SF Mega Family Entertainment & Restaurant Location at Newpark Mall in Newark
November XX, 2013 – Jon Stansbury with Terranomics Retail Services in collaboration with Jerry Bertholdi of JB&A Real Estate & Development represented tenant Incredible Entertainment, Inc. dba John’s Incredible Pizza in a lease of 60,000 square feet at the Newpark Mall in Newark. John’s Incredible is a family entertainment concept, and all-you-can-eat buffet, featuring 20 types of pizza, salad, soup, and dessert. Each John’s is equipped with six themed dining rooms, plus video games and rides. In September of 1997, founder, John Parlet, opened the very first John’s Incredible Pizza Company location in Victorville, California. More than fifteen years later, with 10 locations, the typical John’s facility footprint has grown to an impressive 50,000 square feet with over 100 of the latest games, rides, and attractions. Art.com Introduces New Pop Up Store in San Francisco’s Union Square
December 10, 2013 – Rhonda Diaz Caldewey with Terranomics Retail Services and Marc Ward of Cassidy Turley have collaborated to represent tenant Art.com, the world’s leading online destination dedicated to experiencing and buying art, in the lease of approximately 7,000 square feet of shop space for a new pop-up store near San Francisco’s Union Square.  This is the very first time Art.com—widely recognized as one of the largest e-tailers in the country—has opened a brick and mortar store on its own. The new pop-up store is located at 117 Post Street and will be open through January. The pop-up store features curated art collections and other complimentary merchandise. Some of the featured art includes Nigel Barker, a celebrity photographer, and San Francisco-based artist Rex Ray.

Art.com’s office headquarters are located in Emeryville, which Ward and Michael Raffetto also of Cassidy Turley had represented the company in that leasing assignment.

Starbucks Serves Up More Locales, Adds 2 Cups in Sac Valley and 1 Cup in Walnut Creek
December 10, 2013 – James Teare, SCLS and Jessica Birmingham with Terranomics Retail Services have represented tenant Starbucks in the lease of three new Northern California locations, with two new cafes in Sacramento Valley and one coming in Walnut Creek. Teare and Wheatley teamed up to represent Starbucks in the lease of 2,200 square feet for a new coffee house at 7600 Greenhaven Dr in Sacramento, part of a two-tenant building, as well as the lease of 2,409 square feet at 1790 Auburn Ravine Rd. in Auburn, which was formerly a Taco Bell.  Both locations are now recently opened. Additionally, Birmingham solely represented Starbucks in the lease of 1,600 square feet at the Mercer mixed-use condominium/retail property at North California Blvd and Trinity Ave in downtown Walnut Creek. An opening in downtown is scheduled for early next year.

1790 Auburn Ravine is owned by CIRE Partners. 7600 Greenhaven is owned by Kelake, LLC. The Mercer mixed-use property is owned by Deerfield Realty.

Blue Bottle Coffee Company Chooses Downtown Palo Alto for New Bay Area Location
December 10, 2013 – Mike Costa and Katie Singer with Terranomics Retail Services represented landlord Lytton Gateway LLC in the lease of 1,499 square feet of space with tenant Blue Bottle Coffee Company in downtown Palo Alto.  Blue Bottle will be opening its roaster on the ground floor of the brand new four-story mixed-used building at 101 Lytton, which will also serve as the new headquarters of tech firm Survey Monkey. Headquartered in Oakland, Blue Bottle has multiple locations in Oakland, San Francisco and New York.

The Habit Burger Grill Continues to Beef Up Locations Throughout Bay Area
December 10, 2013 – Annie Jabuka,  Michael Seigel and John Schaefer with Terranomics Retail Services have teamed up to represent tenant The Habit Burger Grill in three separately brokered lease transactions for brand new restaurant openings spread throughout the Bay Area. The locations include the cities of Santa Clara, Fremont and Daly City and all were long-term agreements. The Habit signed a deal of 2,400 square feet at the Santa Clara Town Centre (Main Street Santa Clara) shopping center at the corner of Scott Blvd and El Camino Real. Owned by Byer Properties, the Target-anchored Main Street is currently undergoing a major renovation/remodel. The Habit also executed a deal at The Block at Pacific Commons positioned at Auto Mall Pkwy and I-880 in Fremont for a ±2,172 restaurant. Jabuka and Matt Kircher, also of Terranomics, represented The Block’s owner, Catellus Development, in that deal. The Block/Pacific Commons features many popular retailers such as Target, Costco, TJ Maxx/Home Goods, Nordstrom Rack, and Century Theaters. The Habit also signed a deal at the Gellert Marketplace in Daly City for a new 2,200-square-foot restaurant. Gellert Marketplace is owned by Daly City Partners, LP.

Founded in Santa Barbara in 1969, The Habit operates locations in California, Arizona and Utah. The Habit Burger Grill is most characterized for its char-grilling fresh ground beef over an open flame to make its famous Charburgers. Jabuka and Seigel represented The Habit in the new Santa Clara and Daly City locations, and Jabuka and Schaefer represented The Habit in the Fremont location.

Styles for Less Adds More Locations with New Store at Town & Country Village, Sacramento
December 10, 2013 – James Teare, SCLS and Blair Wheatley with Terranomics Retail Services represented tenant Styles for Less in the lease of 4,000 square feet of inline space at Town & Country Village shopping center in Sacramento. Located at NEC Fulton and Marconi Avenues, Town & Country is owned by Donahue Schiber Realty. Styles for Less is scheduled to open at the center in spring 2014.  Styles for Less has over 150 stores and offers shoppers the latest styles of clothing, shoes, accessories and more, for less.

Laser Tagging Sets Aim for Dublin Crossroads Center, Estimated Opening in Spring 2014
December 10, 2013 – Todd Oliver and Patrick McGaughey with Terranomics Retail Services have collaborated to represent landlord Ready Family Partnership, L.P. in a lease with new tenant Laser Tagging Inc. at the Dublin Crossroads Center. Laser Tagging penned a long-term lease agreement for 9,350 square feet of end cap space and is estimated to open sometime in spring 2014. Dublin Crossroads is located at Dublin Blvd and Village Pkwy, off of Interstate 680. Other tenants in the center include 7-Eleven, Radio Shack, and Concord Feed & Supply. Laser tagging is a fast paced, high tech action adventure of hide and seek games, offering the latest in laser tag technology with state of the art vests and laser guns.

Dollar Tree Stores Buys An Acre of Land in Glenn County, CA to Construct New Store
November XX, 2013 – Jared Dong and Bob Dong with Terranomics Retail Services represented Dollar Tree Stores in the acquisition of one acre of land in Northern California in the city of Willows (Glenn County). The property is located on North Humboldt Avenue and was sold by Carlene Morgan Trust. Dollar Tree Stores will be constructing one of its prototypical discount stores on the property. This is one of several recent sites Dollar Trees has committed to in this region of Northern California.

Weight Watchers Relocating Roseville Locale Just Down the Street to Roseville Center
December 10, 2013 – Annie Jabuka with Terranomics Retail Services has represented tenant Weight Watchers in the lease of 3,611 square feet of space at Roseville Center. Owned by Donahue Schiber Realty, the Target-anchored Roseville Center is located at NWC Douglas Blvd and Rocky Ridge Dr.  Weight Watchers will be relocating from just down the street at the Placer Center Plaza shopping center also along Douglas Blvd. Weight Watchers International, Inc. is the world’s leading provider of weight management services, operating globally through a network of Company-owned and franchise operations.
