Wendel Rosen Expands Trusts and Estates Services; Welcomes Mathew John and Jodi Phillips

OAKLAND, Calif. (Apr. 3, 2019) – Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP, the largest law firm in the East Bay representing businesses throughout the Bay Area and state, welcomes associate attorneys Mathew John to the Trust & Estate Litigation Practice and Jodi Phillips to the firm’s Trusts and Estates practice.

John represents clients in all phases of trust- and estate-related disputes, including advising on elder financial abuse matters in both civil and probate courts. During law school, John interned for Hon. Paul L. Beeman (Ret.) from the Solano County Superior Court. He joins the firm from Hackard Law in Sacramento. John earned his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (2015) and his B.A. from the University of California, Irvine (2012).  

Jodi Phillips

Phillips assists clients with a variety of estate planning issues including family wealth preservation, business succession planning, charitable giving and wills, trusts, powers of attorney and advanced healthcare directives. She is vice chair of the Litigation Committee of the East Bay Trusts and Estate Lawyers bar association and is a co-founder of the East Bay Advisory Panel. Phillips joins the firm from Peter Shelton Law in Berkeley. She earned her LL.M. (2014) and J.D. (2013) from Golden Gate University School of Law and two B.A.’s, both cum laude, from Arizona State University (2009).
