WeWork has signed a lease to take 85,000 square feet of space within the Bishop Ranch business park in San Ramon. The space will cover three floors located at 3001 Bishop Drive, which the co-working company is hoping to have ready for business at the end of this year.
This move by the tenant represents its initial move into the Tri-Valley. “We’re thrilled to open our first WeWork Tri-Valley location in San Ramon’s iconic Bishop Ranch and connect more East Bay members to our regional Bay Area network. We’re bringing collaborative, innovative workspace closer to where people live and play, helping to reduce commute times, reduce carbon emissions, and to create a better quality of life for our members, allowing them to focus on creating their life’s work,” says Elton Kwok, WeWork’s Northern California general manager.
Kwok thinks Bishop Ranch offers a good fit for WeWork with its location and amenities on location. “Bishop Ranch provides that perfect ecosystem of amenities, local shops and transportation services that we look for when coming to new cities, and we’re excited for our members to be part of this mix,” said Kwok.
WeWork is planning to open its space in Bishop Ranch by the end of 2019, which will be the company’s 5th location in the East Bay making San Ramon its 11th city in Northern California. Sunset Development Company is the owner & developer of the property.
“We’re trilled to welcome WeWork to Bishop Ranch and believe the company’s reputation for innovation and creativity make it a perfect fit here. Our strategy has been to create a unique collection of shared amenities at 2600, and the property is ideally suited for the visionary, high-growth customers that WeWork attracts,” says Alexander Mehran Jr., president and chief operating officer for Sunset Development.
