“When Paul Bunton brought me on board, I had no idea the big plans for which I was in store with the Master Plan,” said Mehruss. “A Master Plan is the most important part of the design phase; it is the conceptual layout for a site. Since it takes into account the historical aspects of the site and the future of the site, it often brings out numerous viewpoints and ideas from all parties involved. My goal as a project designer is to mediate through these ideas and help BCA achieve smart, successful, and thoughtful design solutions. “
In his new role at BCA, Mehruss is working on a variety of projects. Over the past four months, Mehruss has assisted BCA’s Project Manager Scott Harper with the Master Plan for the Buena Park School District, as well as the Anaheim City School District Master Plan Update. The Master Planning process is an extensive study into a school’s current needs combined with their projections and hopes for the future.
Additionally, Mehruss is in the beginning stages of collaborating with BCA’s Educator in Residence, Devorah Merling, on a project involving BCA’s 21st Century Classroom. Defining and diagramming BCA’s Classroom will help exponentially in the current Master Plans, as well as future Master Plans.
Prior to joining BCA Architects, Mehruss studied architecture in Rome, Italy and worked at companies such as MBI Homes and Rockwell Homes. Mehruss is a graduate of Woodbury’s School of Architecture.
