Last-Mile Facility Will Create More Than 500 Jobs & Enable Faster Customer Deliveries in The Region

FRESNO, Calif. – March 8, 2022 – Amazon announced today its plans to open a delivery station in Fresno, California. The site will be located on the cross streets of Olive and Clovis avenues and will bring more than 500 full-time and part-time jobs to the area. Positions will start at $17.25 per hour and will include comprehensive benefits such as healthcare, paid time off, dental and vision care.

“I am so pleased to welcome the Amazon Last Mile facility to Fresno, creating hundreds of full-time jobs, and more local economic opportunity is great news for Fresno residents. Those who are unemployed – or underemployed – will now have another avenue to good-paying work that includes healthcare and other benefits. Additionally, this southeast Fresno distribution center will put Amazon closer to its customers, which should help reduce traffic congestion and reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” said Mayor Jerry Dyer of Fresno.

In addition to comprehensive benefits, Amazon’s Career Choice program empowers frontline employees to grow their skills for career success at Amazon or elsewhere. Employees are eligible to participate in the program after 90 days of employment and can take advantage of fully-funded college tuition, industry licenses and certifications that lead to more in-demand jobs, English language proficiency courses, and high school completion programs. Amazon recently announced its partnerships with Clovis Community College and California State University in Fresno to provide their employees access to education with fully-funded college tuition.

This will be the company’s second delivery station in Fresno and will prepare customer orders for last-mile deliveries in and around the city. In addition to creating new direct jobs, Amazon is proud to partner with its Delivery Service Partners (DSP) who enable fast, everyday shipping. Amazon’s DSP program empowers entrepreneurs with opportunities, resources, and coaching to help them build and scale their own logistics businesses.

Construction is already underway for the new 183,091 square foot building and is expected to open in the fall this year.
