185-unit Luxury Community by Developer Blake|Griggs Properties Features Poolside Living with Walkable Plazas, Cafes and Retail
Fremont, CA (May 26, 2017) — Debuting the first new housing of its kind in Fremont in several years, Artist Walk begins pre-leasing May 27 of Memorial Day weekend for a 71-unit first phase of one- and two-bedroom apartments close to ACE trains, BART and I-880. A project of Danville-based Blake|Griggs Properties, a private real estate investment, development and services company with a $4.5 billion track record, Artist Walk is a rare, well-designed mixed-use community of housing, walkable shops and restaurants. A new private street through the property named “Artist Walk Common” offers a connection from Post Street to Fremont Boulevard onto landscaped plazas fronted by retail storefronts.
Residents leasing in Artist Walk’s first building at 3888 Artist Walk Common and Fremont Blvd. can take occupancy August 1, with buildings two, three, four and five opening through November. When fully complete, the $85 million Artist Walk will include 30,000 square feet of ground floor retail commercial space along Fremont Boulevard, 185 residential apartments, a public courtyard, large water fountain and a 1,900-square-foot private community room available to residents for art exhibits and meeting space. The apartments feature in-unit washer/dryers, nine-foot ceilings and private balconies. The resident amenity package includes a business center, clubhouse, resort-style pool, pet spa and bicycle maintenance room. Rents for the market-rate housing start at approximately $2,200 per month.
“Artist Walk offers beautiful new apartment homes with activated plazas and retail spaces bringing new energy to the popular, historic Centerville district,” said Ryan McNamara, Project Manager for Blake|Griggs. “We designed the amenities and lifestyle at Artist Walk to provide a respite when you get home, yet close to employment centers, shopping, entertainment, shoreline parks, the East Bay hills and more.”
McNamara said more than half of the retail space is already leased or committed to specialty cafes, restaurants, an innovative bakery, and more.
The project is a block from the Altamont Commuter Express train station, 2 miles from BART, and easily accessible to Interstate 880, the Dumbarton Bridge and Silicon Valley.
Artist Walk is a joint venture development of Blake|Griggs and JD Capital. Financing was provided by PCCP, LLC. Design is by BDE Architecture and Architects Orange and the general contractor is Western National Builders.
