Arup is excited to announce that Kate White has joined our Integrated Planning team in San Francisco as an Associate Principal and Planning Policy Leader. In her new role, Kate will spearhead the creation of a Planning Policy Practice in Northern California.
Kate comes to us after serving as the Deputy Secretary for Environmental Policy and Housing Coordination for the California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA), under Governor Jerry Brown. During her five-year tenure, she worked with state and local government agencies, and metropolitan planning organizations, to advance California’s ambitious climate goals. Prior to joining CalSTA, Kate spent two decades in the sustainable mobility and development fields, including as Executive Director of the Urban Land Institute’s San Francisco chapter and co-founder of San Francisco’s first car sharing service.
