General contractor, Build Group, has brought on industry veterans Peter Read and Simon Bowden as Regional Vice Presidents.
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (February 22, 2019) – Build Group, a locally established and fast-growing General Contractor, is expanding its reach throughout the Bay Area. After several successful developments in the East Bay, the company is launching a regional office in Oakland, CA. The new office is set to open in March of 2019 and is currently managing over $475 million worth of work in Oakland alone.
Simon Bowden, a construction industry veteran, has been tapped to head the Oakland office. Mr. Bowden has joined Build Group as a Regional Vice President and is responsible for business development and management of Build Group’s East Bay operations. With over 20 years of experience in all facets of the construction industry, Mr. Bowden is positioned to immediately help Build Group in its efforts to expand its East Bay business.
Prior to joining Build Group, Mr. Bowden worked on many projects throughout the region. Of particular note, are his contributions to the 33 Tehama development and the Lumina in San Francisco and the Dublin Heritage Park and Museum in Dublin, CA.
Mr. Bowden has an MS in Construction Management from Chico State University and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
Across the Bay in San Francisco, where Build Group is headquartered, Peter Read will take over management of Build Group’s San Francisco office and leverage his 30+ years of industry experience to ensure the successful delivery of all projects in the San Francisco area.
Before joining Build Group, Peter spent 23 years with a commercial general contractor in the Bay Area, most recently as Vice President of Operations. In addition to projects in London and Moscow, Peter has been responsible for the success of some of the most iconic buildings in San Francisco, including One Rincon and the Lumina. Peter has a civil engineering degree from Aston University in England.
