SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 7, 2019) – The Swig Company, LLC and San Francisco-based work management platform provider Asana announced they have executed a lease for the entirety of the office space at 633 Folsom, an office building now undergoing renovation and expansion in San Francisco’s central SOMA district.

The Swig Company began redevelopment of 633 Folsom in July 2018 and completion of the 12-story, 271,640 square foot project is scheduled to occur in 2020.

Asana is a leading work management platform that’s pioneering the future of work. With Asana, everyone knows the company goals they’re working towards, what needs to be done to achieve them, and how work is tracking against them. Organizations around the world rely on Asana to help their teams reduce ”work about work” so they can focus on the work that matters most. Asana is a recognized leader in team collaboration and known for its award winning approach to workplace culture and inclusion. The company was recently named the #1 Best Place to Work in the Bay Area by Fortune Magazine for the second year in a row and is one of Glassdoor and Inc Magazine’s Best Places to Work.

“There was a great deal of interest in 633 Folsom from the moment this project was announced but we feel we’ve found more than a long term tenant in Asana. We are partnering with a dynamic, growing San Francisco company with a culture highly compatible with our own,” said James Carbone, CEO of The Swig Company.

The Swig Company has owned and operated 633 Folsom since it was built in 1967. The redevelopment includes the addition of five floors totaling approximately 100,000 square feet, as well as all new building systems, exterior facade, an activated outdoor plaza and more than 5,600 square feet of ground floor retail space.

Designed by Gensler, the completed building will integrate innovative design features and state of the art building systems and is being built to LEED Gold and WELL Building Silver certifications.

“633 Folsom Street has been an incredible opportunity to reimagine the next generation of buildings in SOMA,” says Manan Shah, Principal-in-charge, Gensler. “We started with completely overhauling the building’s environmental systems while designing a new façade that will increase the number of hours of daylight for the interior. We also created a more pedestrian-friendly streetscape with improved access to retail, and designed a vibrant, and approachable public open space. This project truly reflects the whole team’s deep commitment to providing greater well-being and an improved experience for the 633 Folsom Street community.

Gary Arabian and Mike Iino of CBRE represented The Swig Company in negotiating the lease. Asana was represented by Tim Kazul and Jon Wittemyer, also of CBRE.
