Association Celebrates Top Women in East Bay Commercial Real Estate with ECHO Awards®

ECHO2013_125Walnut Creek, CA – On Oct. 24 the East Bay chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) announced the winners of the ECHO Awards® at their third annual Honors & Ovations award ceremony in Walnut Creek. These awards recognized four winners who fulfilled the mission of CREW by demonstrating a commitment to advancing women in commercial real estate.

“The commercial real estate profession is male dominated and we want to showcase the incredible deals, companies and professional women who demonstrate outstanding success and pave a way for unlimited opportunities for future generations of men and women in this industry,” said Teresa Goodwin, chapter president of East Bay CREW and regional director of HPA Architecture. Mike Consol, Editor for the Institutional Real Estate Letter and Tillie Ross, Vice President for Old Republic Title Company, served as co-host and emcee of the event.

Two individuals received awards for their outstanding contributions. Also recognized were “Deal of the Year” and a company for corporate excellence. The winners are:

Patricia Curtin of Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP was named Sustained Leader in Commercial Real Estate, an award honoring a woman with more than 10 years of experience in the field of commercial real estate and who has made a significant contribution to the field, while also demonstrating her leadership in her field and community.

Andrea Landsberg-Reeder, Vice President of Leasing and Marketing at Sunset Development Company, received the award for Emerging Leader in Commercial Real Estate. This award is given to a rising leader who has made an outstanding contribution to the industry.

The Best Deal award was given to Union City, Station District. This award acknowledges individuals or teams that have worked together on a common deal, project, initiative or goal that embodies the core values of CREW.

Corporate Excellence was awarded to Old Republic Title Company. This award acknowledges a company who demonstrates continued support and advancement of women in commercial real estate.

At the ceremony, East Bay CREW also presented its own award, for its most valuable member.  Teresa Moss Fluegel, Senior Vice President at Chicago Deferred Exchange Company, was recognized as Most Valuable Member for being the CREW member to gain the most points throughout the year for her service to the organization and ultimately to her own professional and business development.
