BCA Architects Hires Genevieve Vargas as New Senior Project Manager

New Hire Strengthens Firm’s Growth in the Commercial, Civic, Educational and Medical Sectors

Sacramento, CA – BCA Architects, a West Coast architectural firm, announced last month that Genevieve Vargas, AIA, LEED®AP ID+C joined the team as a Senior Project Manager in BCA’s Sacramento office. She is working directly under Brian P. Whitmore, AIA, NCARB, LEED®AP, Vice President of Design and Associate Principal of BCA, to further develop the firm’s growing portfolio in the civic, commercial, medical and educational market sectors.

Genevieve VargasGenevieve is working with Brian on a number of projects, particularly the new projects in San Mateo, where she is in charge of managing the designs, overseeing the interactions with the clients, aiding the correspondent’s interaction with the consultants, and talking with the designers to develop quality project documents. She is also heading up a number of other projects, including Genentech’s state-of-the-art biotech labs in South San Francisco and Cañada College in Redwood City.

“Working with Brian and the team at BCA has been an exciting new endeavor for me,” said Genevieve. “I’ve been able to apply my passion for quality design to the diverse range of projects that BCA is currently working on in a way that engages and builds upon all of my past experiences. Genevieve comes to BCA with a lot of experience in the architectural industry, having spent nearly 19 years designing an array of different facilities, ranging from the education sector to the commercial and civic sectors. She has managed large government agency projects and presided over a number of higher education projects at Sacramento State University, working on food service remodels and projects in the student union. She has also done work with various county agencies in Madera County and Placer County, where she worked on the South Placer County Santucci Justice Center Courthouse.
