SAN JOSE – The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Silicon Valley announced today that the commercial real estate association’s 2020 Board of Directors have officially taken office, following their election at BOMA’s annual membership meeting in September 2019.
“BOMA Silicon Valley’s new board of directors is made up of women and men who have dedicated immeasurable amounts of time and energy to serving Silicon Valley’s commercial real estate industry,” said BOMA Silicon Valley President Noreen Castillo. “I am confident that their collective expertise and unique perspectives will help drive our organization forward as we continue to grow our membership, streamline our operations, and serve the professional needs of our members.”
Every year, nine BOMA Silicon Valley members are formally nominated by the organization’s Nominating Committee to serve a one-year term. The committee seeks individuals who have demonstrated leadership not only in their career, but in the organization. The nominating slate is then presented to BOMA members for approval during its annual Membership Meeting.
“This is a very exciting time for the organization. In just the past year, we’ve moved our office to Downtown San Jose, hired new in-house staff, grown our membership, and launched a new website,” said Castillo. “With this renewed energy, I am excited for our board to get back to basics. That means expanding our educational offerings, creating new networking events, and launching new membership engagement initiatives to refocus on what has made BOMA Silicon Valley an indispensable organization to our members and their career success.”
The following individuals comprise BOMA Silicon Valley’s 2020 Board of Directors: President Noreen Castillo of Cushman and Wakefield; Vice President LaToya Ross of Hudson Pacific Properties; Treasurer Tracy Jeffrey of CBRE; Secretary Brian Chavez of Cushman and Wakefield; Immediate Past President Tiffany Lauchlan of Cushman and Wakefield; Director Lilian Betancourt; Director Brandi Calderon of Embarcadero Realty Services; Director Michelle Piazza of Cushman and Wakefield; Director Remy-Anne Viajar of The Sobrato Family Foundation; and Associate Member Representative Melissa Wood of Black Diamond Roofing. All members serve a one-year term.
