Brian Schroth Joins NOVO Construction to Lead Sustainability Practice

Industry Leader Brings Specialized Green Building Expertise to Well Established General Contractor

Menlo Park, Calif. – NOVO Construction today announced the appointment of renowned green building expert Brian Schroth as Project Executive and Director of Sustainability. Mr. Schroth will lead NOVO’s prolific practice constructing signature green building projects. He will build upon the firm’s notable recent completion of the Zero Net Energy Center in San Leandro. Built by NOVO for the IBEW / NECA’s Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee, the project is the first large-scale zero net energy retrofit in the country to meet the U.S. Department of Energy’s standards as officially “zero net energy”. Schroth will also lead NOVO’s strategic pursuit of new marquee green building projects including zero net energy retrofits, zero net energy corporate interiors, bio-fuel facilities, and LEED designated projects.

Brian SchrothMr. Scroth is a seasoned real estate and construction management professional with over 17 years experience. He is a recognized expert on sustainable building practices and is responsible for some of the most innovative and significant green buildings in the country. Prior to joining NOVO, Mr. Schroth served for five years as Vice President of Construction and Development at Project Frog, a leading provider of technologically advanced energy-efficient component buildings. During his time at Project Frog, Mr. Schroth successfully completed a wide variety of unique projects including: The Golden Gate Bridge 75th Anniversary Visitor Pavilion; The Hunter’s Point Community Center; The Watkinson School Net Zero Energy Solarium; Dow Admin and R&D facility in Hawaii and GE’s Leadership Development Center at their executive training facility. Most notably, he built the award winning Crissy Field Center and Beach Café. One of the most sustainable structures in existence, the LEED Platinum building achieved an astonishing 88 LEED points.

Prior to joining Project Frog, Mr. Scroth served as Vice President of Construction for SIMEON Commercial Properties, a value-added commercial development company that has successfully financed and developed over 4 million square feet of office, warehouse, R&D and retail buildings. During his tenure, he managed over $135 million in construction projects, including LeapFROG Enterprise’s Campus, Kodak Gallery Headquarters, Larkspur Landing Shopping Center, the corporate headquarters for GreenPoint Mortgage Inc., Catalyst Bioscience and 979 Broadway in Millbrae.

Mr. Schroth earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from University of the Pacific in Stockton. He has also completed graduate level courses at University of California, Berkeley.
