City of Sunnyvale Selects New Mayor, Vice Mayor

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – At last night’s (Jan. 5) regular Council meeting, the City Council selected Councilmember Glenn Hendricks as Mayor of Sunnyvale, and Councilmember Gustav Larsson as Vice Mayor. Both will serve a one-year term.

The Mayor typically serves a two-year term; however, due to the City’s change from odd- to even-year elections following the November 2013 Charter amendment, this year is a one-year transition term. Commencing with the January 2017 selection, the two-year mayoral term will resume.

Current Councilmembers Jim Griffith and Tara Martin-Milius are outgoing Mayor and Vice Mayor, respectively.
