San Jose, Silicon Valley, Bay Area, Built with Principle, Pillars Architecture, AppleSeed, AppleSeed Montessori School, Children’s House Academy (CHA)SAN JOSE, California – August 5, 2016 – Construction has begun on a new building for AppleSeed Montessori School – Children’s House Academy (CHA) at 972 South De Anza Boulevard in San Jose. The new building will be constructed by Built with Principle and, along with the existing building, serve up to 160 toddler through Kindergarten-aged children.

Designed by Pillars Architecture, the building includes new playground areas and an attractive elliptical swoop that highlights the building’s entrance and provides a protected area for children to assemble for drop off and pickup. Inside, the building features playful and bright pastels and warm hues. Ample windows in all classrooms provide a daylight-learning environment.

“We are pleased to design a building that provides a modern and safe facility that parents would be comfortable leaving their children in,” said Alex Ross, Principle of Pillars Architecture. “The building includes new playground areas and creates visual interest from De Anza Boulevard.”

The project will be built in the back of an existing lot that currently houses the Children’s House Academy which will remain open during construction and active after construction. The project is expected to be complete by March, 2017.

“The new school will allow us to serve more students in a fun and safe environment,” said Diane Hsu, School Administrator for AppleSeed Montessori. “We look forward to expanding our services to the community with the new facility and seeing the kids enjoy their new learning environment.”

“We are excited to work with AppleSeed on this new school,” said Jill Hagaman, President and CEO of Built with Principle. “We look forward to delivering a quality building on time and on budget that will add further value to the site and be enjoyed by the AppleSeed Montessori community.”
