SAN FRANCISO, CA – September 26, 2014 – Robert Sammons has joined Cushman & Wakefield as Regional Research Director. Robert’s principal roles will include working closely with research teams in Northern California and Portland to provide superior expertise to clients, procuring new business opportunities and augmenting the overall research capabilities for the entire region.
Robert has 29 years of commercial real estate experience as an appraiser and researcher. His career includes prominent positions with Cushman & Wakefield in New York, and the New York City Economic Development Corporation. Most recently, Robert was a Vice President with Cassidy Turley (formerly Colliers) and Head of Research for the New York Tri-State region for Newmark Grubb Knight Frank. While in New York, Robert contributed to the Commercial Observer, a division of the New York Observer with a weekly column, “Sammons Says.” He earned a Master of Science in Real Estate from Georgia State University.
According to Cushman & Wakefield’s Maria Sicola, Head of Americas Research: “Robert is a highly regarded and quoted source for commercial real estate. His leadership, diverse research background and expertise will continue to enhance the research capabilities and credibility of our brand.” Sicola spearheads the entire research department in the Americas, overseeing the US, Canada, Mexico and South America. She has over 30 years of experience leading and directing large, high-achieving, cross functional teams.

Cushman & Wakefield’s San Francisco Research Department is comprised of a seasoned and versatile group of experts in their respective disciplines. Along with Sicola and Sammons, the research team includes Caroline Rooney, Managing Director, Capital Markets. A three year Cushman & Wakefield veteran, Rooney is responsible for national research for the capital markets service line. She also directs local and regional research in support of both internal and external clients. With over 15 years of research experience, Rooney has held senior management positions with the Rosen Consulting Group, Cohen & Steers Capital Management and Landauer Associates.
Another important member of the Northern California team is Rob Miller, Director of Economic Analysis and Forecasting. Miller specializes in economic and real estate market analysis, consulting and institutional investment research across all major commercial property sectors and all major U.S. markets. He has been with Cushman & Wakefield for nine years and has over 20 years of industry experience. In addition to working with Cushman & Wakefield, he has also held positions at Grosvenor Americas, Real Capital Analytics, Colliers and Metric Realty (now known as Black Rock).
