SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – April 3, 2017 – DCI Engineers, a civil and structural consulting engineering firm, is pleased to announce these promotions in our San Francisco office.
Dean Lewis, PE, SE, was promoted to Senior Project Manager. Dean was originally hired at DCI’s Spokane office in 2010, transferred to the Seattle office in 2012 and San Francisco in 2015. He worked on a variety of projects ranging from residential, schools, commercial, and industrial projects. His current projects include Hunters Point Shipyard Block 48 and 360 5th Street (both in San Francisco); and 1314 Franklin Street and Jack London Square (both in Oakland, California). He leads the office’s wood technical committee and is a contributing member of other committees. Dean is particularly interested in mass timber construction and posts blogs on the company website. He is part of the ANSI/PRG 320 certification board, which is the development standard for cross laminated timber (CLT).
Edward Liao, PE, was promoted to Project Manager. Joining the DCI team in 2013, Edward has worked on a wide range of projects, including reinforced concrete high-rises, steel structures, and large wood multi-family housing projects on concrete podiums. In addition, he has worked on highrise performance based design projects utilizing high-strength reinforcement and steel composite coupling beams. Edward is a member of DCI’s in-house technical committees, such as for high-rises; steel and aluminum; and concrete. He received his Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) and his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Duke University.
Jordan Hague, PE, was promoted to Senior Project Manager. In 2013, Jordan transferred from Seattle to the San Francisco office. His engineering project support experience ranges from office, mixed-use, residential, hospitality, and tenant improvement. His current projects in San Francisco include 1545 Pine Street, 250 4th Street, 2465 Van Ness, and Parkmerced. Jordan is also working on the Santa Clara Square Phase I project. He contributes to DCI’s in-house technical committees for high-rises, concrete, and design loads. Jordan is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the Structural Engineers Association of California.
Blake Schatz, PE, was promoted to Senior Project Manager. Blake transferred from San Diego to the San Francisco office in 2016. His past projects made him well-versed with frame loading, shell improvements, seismic calculations, building assessments, tenant improvements, and various construction support services. Blake’s current projects include Parcel D in Oakland’s Jack London Square, 600 20th Street in San Francisco, and The Four Seasons in Calistoga, California. He contributes to DCI’s in-house technical committees for wood, cold formed steel, steel and aluminum, masonry, and concrete.
John Ward, PE, was promoted to Project Manager. After his internship at the firm, John joined DCI as a full-time staff member in 2014. John has gained a wide range of experience working on commercial, multi-family residential and high-rise projects. John is currently working on a dual tower high-rise project in San Jose, California. He contributes to DCI’s in-house technical committees for high-rises, wood, concrete, and design load. John is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California.
