DLA Piper announced today that Mark McKeen has joined the firm as a partner in the Litigation practice in San Francisco.
McKeen focuses on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on the real estate industry. This includes real property law, environmental claims, business torts, trade secrets, unfair competition, Uniform Commercial Code, bankruptcy proceedings, and partnership disputes. In addition, his general commercial litigation experience includes working in the areas of IP, financial institutions, environmental, and trade secrets, and with a range of companies across industries.
“Mark has an impressive track record in high-stakes real estate litigation in jurisdictions across the country,” said David Gross, regional chair of DLA Piper’s US Litigation practice in San Francisco. “Additionally, Mark is a great fit for us in Northern California, given his experience representing companies across sectors and industries.”
“Mark joins us with an extensive trial background in real estate litigation and other disciplines, having handled both federal and state court cases,” said Loren Brown, co-chair of DLA Piper’s US Litigation practice. “His focus fits hand-in-glove with our both our national litigation and real estate practices, and he will be able to leverage our significant geographic footprint and the strength and depth of our platform.”
McKeen joins DLA Piper from Paul Hastings LLP, where he served as the national co-chair of Real Estate Litigation group. He received his B.A. from Stanford University, and his J.D. from University of California, Los Angeles.
He is the most recent addition to DLA Piper in Northern California, following international tax lawyer Idan Netser; real estate lawyer Lynn Cadwalader; corporate and M&A lawyers Brian Wheeler and Louis Lehot; outsourcing lawyer Adam Sak; venture capital lawyer Jonathan Axelrad; information and electronic data lawyer Amor Esteban; white collar lawyer Lisa Tenorio-Kutzkey; former venture capitalist Tom Furlong; and former general counsel of Apple and Oracle, Daniel Cooperman.
