San Francisco (August 2, 2019) – Huntsman Architectural Group announces promotions including three Senior Associates – Amanda McDowell, Karie Vagedes, and Andrew Witlin, and eight Associates – Katherine Brown, Katharine Dwyer, Emmanuelle Ichaye-Anum, Adam Murphy, Tamara Sainz, Larry Smith, Tisha Tasaki, and Liz Vieira. “Each of these individuals is actively engaged in evolving our firm’s practice, elevating our design portfolio, and leading technical and operational practices,” shares President and CEO Sascha Wagner, FIIDA AIA LEED AP.
Promoted to Senior Associate, Amanda McDowell has been the design leader on several of the firm’s significant workplace and building repositioning projects for Golub & Company, DivcoWest, Autodesk, Digital Insight, and Sterling Bay. Having joined the San Francisco office in 2007, she relocated to the Chicago office in 2018 and serves as an accomplished design leader and mentor in the firm’s growing Midwest practice. Amanda received a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of Cincinnati.
Karie Vagedes, IIDA NCIDQ has been promoted to Senior Associate. Karie originally joined the firm in 2004 and after a brief hiatus, returned in 2012. She co-led the opening of the firm’s Chicago office in 2016 and has managed and designed key workplaces and building repositioning projects with clients including Golub & Company, R2 Companies, Tishman Speyer, Sterling Bay, and Relativity. Karie is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning program.
A registered architect, Andrew Witlin, AIA NCARB was promoted to Senior Associate. With a 30+ year career on east coast, he has partnered with notable clients including Shorenstein, Tarkett, Dolby, RaySearch Laboratories, Hines, and numerous Fortune 500 companies. His senior management and technical expertise continue to expand and advance the firm’s New York practice. Andrew received a Bachelor of Architecture with Highest Honors from the Pratt Institute and joined Huntsman in 2016.
Promoted to Associate, Katherine Brown IIDA NCIDQ LEED AP ID+C has over nine years of experience in interior design, collaborating with clients including Delta Dental, Morgan Creek Ventures, Vornado Realty Trust, and Hudson Pacific Properties. She is an active member of IIDA where she has led regional industry events. Katherine received a Master of Arts in Interior Design from the New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University in Boston.
A licensed architect, Katharine Dwyer RA LEED AP BD+C joined the firm in 2013 and has been promoted to Associate. She has worked with clients including Hall Capital Partners, Pixar, Fetch, Sheppard Mullin, and Paramount Group and brings a focus on strategies for sustainability and wellness to her projects and within the firm. Katharine received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon.
Emmanuelle Ichaye-Anum CID NCIDQ joined Huntsman in 2015 and has been promoted to Associate. She is involved in managing all phases from planning to implementation on small- and large-scale projects for clients including Delta Dental, Vanbarton Group, Harvest Properties, and Transamerica Pyramid Center. She received a BTS Architecture Intérieure in Besançon, France.
Promoted to Associate, Adam Murphy AIA joined the firm in 2014 and has over 20 years of experience of design and technical management of small- and large-scale projects for clients including Uber, CSAA, Shorenstein, Dolby, and numerous public and government agencies. A licensed architect, Adam is a valued mentor and resource to project teams, particularly during the documentation and implementation phases. He received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
Tamara Sainz joined Huntsman’s New York office in 2018 and has been promoted to Associate. With 10 years of workplace design experience, she has been a lead designer on projects for Aquent, RaySearch Laboratories, and Fenwick & West, and Sheppard Mullin. Tamara received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Interior Design from Parsons the New School for Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
Larry Smith AIA LEED AP is a licensed architect with over 25 years of experience and has been promoted to Associate. He has been instrumental in managing key building repositioning and workplace projects for clients including Vanbarton Group, Starcity, Keker, Van Nest & Peters, and Vornado Realty Trust. Larry received a Bachelor of Architecture with Honors from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and joined the firm in 2015.
With a 23-year career in marketing and communications for the design industry, Tisha Tasaki has been promoted to Associate. Having joined Huntsman in 2016 as Marketing Director, Tisha oversees strategic marketing, communications, and public relations efforts for the firm’s three offices. Tisha received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture with Highest Honors from the California College of the Arts.
Promoted to Associate, Marketing Manager, Liz Vieira, supervises several of the firm’s marketing efforts including photography, resource management, and social media initiatives, as well as managing the organization of project pursuits in the firm’s three offices.
