Huntsman Architectural Group Announces Five Promotions

July 19, 2017 – Huntsman Architectural Group announces promotions in the firm’s San Francisco and Chicago offices. Promotions include three Senior Associates – Nicole Everett, Tiana Taylor, and Andrew Volckens, as well as two Associates – Joanna Heringer and Karie Vagedes. “Each of these individuals is actively engaged in evolving our firm’s practice and expanding our client partnerships,” shares President and CEO Sascha Wagner, IIDA CID LEED AP. “Their leadership, passion, and creativity are not only strong assets in the firm’s ability to deliver meaningful projects for our clients, but they are also contributing to making Huntsman a great place to work.”

A designer in the firm’s San Francisco office, Nicole Everett, CID LEED AP has been promoted to Senior Associate. Nicole’s approach to design is simple: she partners with clients in a creative visioning process to clearly articulate their goals and values, which are ultimately reflected in the design of compelling and dynamic spaces. Nicole’s portfolio of small- and large-scale projects in the technology, corporate, retail, hospitality, and residential market sectors includes noteworthy clients like YouTube, Vornado Realty Trust, Hudson Pacific Properties, Piper Jaffray, and Moody’s. Nicole received a Certificate in Interior Design and Interior Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. She joined Huntsman in 2012.

Promoted to Senior Associate, Tiana Taylor, Associate AIA, NOMA joined Huntsman in 2012 and as a designer and project manager she is an integral team member to building owners and property managers. She directs project teams through complex, multi-phased projects, oversees budgets and schedules, and provides expertise throughout the construction process. She has partnered with clients from Fortune 500 to start-up companies including JLL, Forbes Media, CBRE, Thor Equities, and Cushman & Wakefield. She is an active member of the National Organization of Minority Architects San Francisco chapter where she helps to lead the planning of educational programs and mentors minority students interested in the design and construction professions. Tiana received a Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

As Director of Huntsman’s Chicago office, Andrew Volckens, AIA provides architectural and design services on a wide range of projects including corporate interiors, higher education, mixed-use, residential, hospitality, and retail. His experience ranges from large- to small-scale projects, working on all phases of design, documentation and construction for clients including Tarkett, Tishman Speyer, Quantcast, YouTube, Digital Insight, Google, and Shorenstein Properties. Having joined Huntsman in 2011 in San Francisco, Andrew was instrumental in the opening of Huntsman’s Chicago office in 2016, quickly and successfully elevating the firm’s presence in the Midwest region. He is a licensed architect and holds architecture degrees from the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Michigan. Andrew has been promoted to Senior Associate.

Promoted to Associate, Joanna Heringer has over 25 years of experience in project management, account management, change management, strategic planning, and space planning for public institutions and private corporations. She is proficient at developing workplace strategies for large-scale corporate campuses and multi-site environments, often performing detailed pre-design and evaluation services as well as coordinating expanded consultant teams throughout multi-phased project implementation. Joanna’s expertise has been integral in maintaining and expanding the firm’s relationships with key clients including Kaiser Permanente, Dolby, Delta Dental, Google, and the California State Automobile Association (CSAA). She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a Marketing Concentration from Seattle Pacific University and joined Huntsman in 2012.

Karie Vagedes, IIDA NCIDQ has been promoted to Associate. Karie has collaborated with a variety of clients in the planning and design of office, retail, civic, and healthcare facilities throughout her 13 years of experience in architecture and interior design. She has been a designer with Huntsman for seven years, starting in the firm’s San Francisco office. Karie co-led the opening of the firm’s Chicago office in 2016 and has since been working with clients including Tarkett, Kaiser Permanente, Tishman Speyer, and kCura. Karie actively volunteers at DePaul University mentoring young women and also serves as a role model for local elementary students, sharing her love of design in Chicago’s SEE8 Program. Karie is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning program.
