Former Hines executive Jon Wood opens Legacy Partners office in Florida
FOSTER CITY, Calif. (June 19, 2018) – Legacy Partners (Legacy), a privately owned national real estate firm, announced today their expansion into the Southeast with a regional office located just outside Orlando, Florida, as well as the hiring of industry veteran Jon C. Wood as Senior Managing Director, Southeast. Wood will be responsible for launching the Southeast presence, including site selection, market and financial analyses, due diligence, product design, entitlements, permits, financing, construction, property and asset management, risk management, and strategic planning. Legacy has five other offices across the Western and Midwestern United States.

Wood was previously the Southeast Managing Director of Development for Hines, where he launched and oversaw their multifamily development platform in the Southeast region. Prior to joining Hines, Wood was the East Coast Division Partner for The Morgan Group, a national multifamily development firm based in Houston where he was responsible for managing multifamily development projects in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. He has also held multifamily development positions at Archstone in Washington, D.C. and Trammel Crow Residential in Florida.
Wood has an MBA from the University of Florida, with concentrations in Real Estate, Finance and Entrepreneurship, where he took first place in the program’s Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition. He also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, Cum Laude, from Rollins College.
Wood is an active member of the National Multi Housing Council, Urban Land Institute, and University of Florida Friends and Alumni of Real Estate. He also served as a Director on the University of Florida Real Estate Advisory Board.
